Jerry,

I don't want to be argumentative, but I admit that I am a skeptic when it comes to anyone who wants to work in Rescue but wants to remain anonymous. Yes, someone can contact you, but how do they know they are dealing with someone that is reputable?

"Sharon, the internet is a rough place these days, its not smart to put out any more personal info out there then you have to."

Jerry, the internet is a rough place, but the real world is much, much rougher. So you seriously think that someone will deal with a person and adopt a dog from a person that is unwilling to share their name? What would you do if I contacted you about adopting a dog, but I won't disclose my name and/or address? Would you trust me? Would you send the dog home with me? Why or why not? Why isn't the reverse true? Why should a potential adopter trust a Rescue that is unwilling to go with full disclosure? Sounds like a little snake oil salesmanship going on.

Rescuing, and/or buying a puppy, needs full disclosure from both parties, otherwise you are setting the situation up for failure. We all know too well how some poor Boerboels ended up in an abusive situation with a loving man who pimped them out for his human clients. Perhaps names were not exchanged when he got the dogs? Doesn't this concern you?

I see on your website that you have applied for 501c status as a non-profit and want to accept tax deductible donations. A 501C has to disclose their name.

You stated "The Boerboel Network is not a rescue for Boerboels, it's intended to be a central location of all the dogs that we know of that need homes." So you intend to solicit donations to run a website?

Jerry, I apologize in advance if my suspicions are unwarranted. I am a skeptic by nature. I could not recommend anyone deal with a Rescue, or a website, that does not offer full disclosure of their location and name.

Sorry. The real world is a rough place. You could be living in China for all we know, and selling dogs for someone's dinner. It is far too easy to camouflage things behind a pretty website.
