Hi Larry,

I think cancer and all it's ugly forms are just more common in larger dogs. I can't think of a breed of Mastiff or molosser influenced breed that doesn't have a lot of instances of it.

Osteosarcoma is more common in male dogs neutered before 1 year of age but I know of several intact dogs of different mastiff breeds that have died of it around nine/ten years old.

It's a big dog thing, not a Boerboel thing.
