I think what some people missed in my post was that the dogs live here on my small farm, and their primary job is to get rid of the critters. I also have horses, and the groundhogs are an extreme nuisance with the huge holes that they did in the pasture. In addition to the groundhogs, we have deer that knock down the fencing, raccoons, possum, fox, etc. Possum are especially scary because they can transmit EPM to horses.

I had a Bandog that was pretty good at keeping the wildlife down, but I think the Boerboels do a much better job. It's the main reason the Boerboel was my dog breed of choice. The Boerboels seem to make chasing down wildlife as their personal mission in life. Nothing gets past them. I like it! Nearly every day they will go out and do a rundown of the high brush to see if they can flush something out. If there is something hiding in the bushes, they will find it.
