Subject: skin allergies

I was wondering if anyone out there has dealt with skin issues with their Boerboel. Our 2 year old develops scab like places along with red blotchy raw areas. We normally can keep it at bay with Benadryl but had to take him to the vet recently when it got out of control. She put him on antibiotics and a dose of pred which already has seem to made him feel better today. At first I thought it was going to be seasonal and it does seem to be worse during spring and summer but we have to stay on top of it. Just curious if others have had to deal with this.
