Thanks Lee,

I understand completely what you are saying...I guess I would prefer to find what I am looking for WITHIN the breed...I have never bought in to the limited gene pool argument. We have had several self-imposed barriers in this breed community further restricting the dogs that could possibly be bred, but even so, there is good stock out there.

Lee, you did not touch on your views of how the registries should handle such breedings if the need was indeed upon us. Should breeders and registries work together, or would you accept the notion of breeders (some talented, some not) working individually and without the registration process and then incorporating these dogs back into the pool? What are the ethical considerations?
