I have found that some of the higher quality dry dog food companies don't specify a difference between small, large, or giant breed foods. When I was feeding the Blue Buffalo Blue Wilderness, I found out that the protein percentage was a little high (42% crude protein), which was good at the time because my dog was a little on the slim side. I have also read, especially with BB's, that you don't want them to grow too fast as puppies. The Wellness Core has a 34% crude protein. I definitely found a huge difference in the amount of stool and gas once I started feeding a high quality food. The other "perk" of the higher quality dry dog foods is your dog will not need to eat near as much so the bags last much longer.

Compare ingredients on the food labels, and you be amazed at how much crap some companies put in their dog food that is marketed as a good or high quality food (Hills Science Diet is a 1 star dog food). The ingredients are listed in order by weight, so keep that in mind also. Knowledge is power when it comes to choosing the right food. Some of the other foods that I conisdered were the Innova EVO, Taste of the Wild, Canidae All Life Stages, and Solid Gold but had a hard time finding them around here where I live. Once I educated myself on dog food, I was also amazed at how many people think they are feeding a really good, high quality, dog food that had no idea they are not (I was one of them). Good Luck to you!
