I also heard the e-mail about "weeping" on Y100. While I don't want to entirely discount this as a legitimate phenomenon, I have an alternate explanation. Perhaps those people who experience this type of emotional response are actually just more empathetic in general...perhaps they feel a great deal of respect and reverence for the past and what happened to the people who came before us. Perhaps just by being in a location they have heard stories about is enough to generate this type of response. I have felt this way on battlefields and in other historical locations from time to time as I have thought about what occurred there. On more than one occassion, I found myself sobbing uncontrollably. I believe, in most cases, that it is just a natural human response to feeling a strong connection to our past. I do not, however, rule out the possibility completely that some people's experiences may be a genuine "ghostly" experience.
