I can understand where you're coming from with the theory that this is just a result of being afraid of something or excited about something.... I've considered that explanation, but as I said, I'm not generally frightened or touched by the stories/experiences that trigger the reaction. I am not an overly emotional person, I don't cry very often... I just don't think that (in my case) it is a result of a connection to the past or some form of empathy. I'm not suggesting that the reaction is a result of something paranormal- I have never felt that I have any more connection with those kinds of things than the average person, but some people have this very weird unexplainable physical reaction... how can it be explained?
