It is very interesting that you bring this type of picture up. About 2 years ago, I had two investigations where we had a "bright" area show up on some pictures. These pictures are in the Forest Hills Cemetery pics on the webpage. After trying numerous control photographs, we were unable to re-create the pictures. Without being able to see your pictures and the negatives, I cannot truly speculate what may be causing your pics. If it is a light leak, you can look at the negatives. If the image goes beyond the frame of the picture (like down to the edge of the film), then it is a light leak. If it stops at the side of the frame like mine did, then you need to investigate the possibility of the flash shining off of something close to you in the periphery of the camera. I would like to see these pictures if that is all possible (maybe if it is possible for you to scan them). Let me know if you have any other questions.
