Let's get one thing staight. Yes, alot of the noice, sounds, and banging that you and the five family members hear are staged. The reason for this is simple. If the producers don't create their own noise, barely anything will happen, and that will cause the show to be very very boring.
The show "Sceam Test" is a good example of this, where contestants must spend a night in a haunted building. If you have seen the show, you would know (the producer tells you at the beginning of the show) that they create their own noice to frightin the contestants, and only once in a while would you hear something that the producers didn't create. Using this method can make the show alot more exciting.
