Subject: What is a Tear off Rood

I'm purchasing a home and it says new "tear-off" roof? What does that mean? What kind of roof is that?

It means they will not let you install a new roof over the existing roof and that they require its removal.

OR

If they are not requiring you to have a new roof installed they are trying to tell you that when the new roof was installed they removed the existing roof instead of going over it.
