May I suggest that since the transporters of Star Trek obviously transport energy, otherwise people would go unconcous and die from lack of neural activity and that weapons get transported without loosing their charge, perhaps it should be that the Force is something akin to a fith dimension and that the midiclorians have to reach into that fifth dimension to access the Force. If transported, the midiclorians get that connection cut, which could be very tromatic, and have to dig back into or reach back into the fifth dimension in order to regain the Force. This action could take alot of energy on the part of the person who was transported and could uterly incapasitate a person with significant Force ability. So you would have troma from a disconnection with the Force and a huge drain of energy in an etempt to regain that connection.
