I find that reasoning sound. Unfortunately it only serves to prove one critical point. It is, that if someone has to point out things like what is and is not offical, then the real problem is not with a debater's reasoning but more to the point the information on which his or her facts are based. This is the main problem which I have discovered since coming here. Sadly most of the Trekling's blindly follow and believe all that is shown to them. While there are Star Wars fan that are just as bad most, seem reasonable. To be fair most Trek fans are fair. They simply lack vital information that isn't tainted by conjectural or technobabble which often is changed to suit the moment or other convenient circumstance, so they can be right. While it may seem debilitating that Star Wars doesn't have a plethora of television episodes or countless tech guides with detailed workings of its universe. I find it would only serve to confuse most fans in a similiar fashion as poor Trek fans are now confused. Luckily Star Wars does not give precise weapon ranges or speed values or any other concrete proof of its technological level. This is left to the imagination of the fans. We hold the secrets and knowledge of that wonderful galaxy far far away. Most other Sci-Fi universes don't seem to have the confused contradicting mayhem that Star Trek does. For the most part I ignore it and enjoy the show, after all it is fiction. It may be the most famous and it may be the longest running syndicated franchise in history but that doesn't make it accurate or consistant! Oh one other thing. Live long and prosper, and may the Force be with you, always...
