Hmm, well for a kick off lets get rid of K9 (a toaster with a dogs head, usefull) C3-PO I don't think I'd choose either, yes at translation he's great but thats pretty much his range exhausted. Cylons are very cool, but they don't seem to me to have any decent "droid" applications, I always asumed them to be people in armour.

Kryten, well you'd have a really clean ship for a start :) Judging on later RD series he's a usefull technician and pilot so he's a consideration

R2. Well of course very usefull little things, can fix stuff, interface with computers, downside without a translation PADD you have no clue what they are saying too you, still R2-D2 has saved a few ships over the years so they are usefull.

I haven't got much of a clue about an Exocomp or Daneel Olivaw, so can't really comment.

Data out of the list has to be my choice, Physically he works as well or better than an organic crew member, he has a knowledge base that is vast, and can think at lightning speed. The major advantage Data has however over most of these droids is Sentience, he is alive, he has all the advantages of a thinking organism coupled with superior physical and mental prowess of an android.
