Subject: Last year contestants were much stronger all around. They definitely had to scramble whoever they can find. Although I did expect Taylor or Lewis to place.

I think that both Lokey and Lewis stand out more. Gallagher is a little too heavy for the pageant of this scale. Her talent is not that strong and I don't know if she has done anything impressive with her platform. She has pretty big shoes to fill.

[> [> [> Subject: Joanna Guy was a GREAT Teen Contestant, who crossed over and became a GREAT Miss Contestant. She placed first runnerup in Teen one year and then won it the next. She had the goods prior to winning both titles. No one really had to work with her, she was a class act without any help. Christina is gorgeous and her lot in life will be to be Miss USA. MAO was a stepping stone for her.

I have to agree with the comments about Joanna Guy and Christina Denny. They were both very strong competitors who placed in the Miss America Top 10 in back to back years. You can't argue those facts.

I also thought Jade Kenny was more impressive than than the Miss America judges gave her credit for. But, that is just my opinion.

[> Subject: Don't get me wrong thereve been some great contestants over the last few years. But the loss of contestants to other states or to other programs as well as Sherry & friends' lack of ability to market or manage the program. And YES I will proudly bitch bitch bitch and moan moan moan. I will shout it from the rooftops until the day Sherry & her merry band of idiots are replaced. This program was wonderful once upon a time and this board of directors has ruined it. It's not whining it's stating the truth. The number of sponsors, volunteers, and contestants lost because of this group is sickening.

Because coming here to bitch about something, "anything" about this program is all you have going on in your life. If you are so miserable, then do as all a favor and LEAVE!

[> Subject: I would considere the years between 2001 and 2010 to be the "hay day" of the Miss America System in Maryland. It was nothing for the miss and teen programs to have over 15 for one title. This is not intended to hurt the feelings of any current contestant but if you were just average you didn't win a local. Now it seems like even those girls eventually win a title each year. My daughter competed over three years before winning her first local.

[> [> Subject: 1998-2003 was the heyday. For a few years after 2003 there were many quality contestants in Md. (Ryan Richardson, Shannon Beam, etc.) who left the state because of Sherry & etc. Today it is very easy for a mediocre contestant to win a local. Girls who make the Top 5 these days wouldn't have even won a local back then.

Negative. She works for the venue that hosts the competition, which would be a conflict- I believe.

Audi is not returning because of many reasons. Stop assuming that it is because of her job.

[> [> Subject: I think it's a PR thing honestly. We all know about this year's contestant's background. There is no way that would be allowed to represent the organization at a national level. MADD would have a field day. Maybe better screening? Not sure how that would work. Whatever the answer is I think it will still be a while before we have a good wholesome combo.

[> [> Subject: I believe all he contestants are enrolled in college this year or will be enrolling if they are graduating high school. I believe Mulligan graduated from Liberty University in VA, Medowcroft is graduating from NYU, Lokey is graduating from UMD, Smith graduated from Old Dominion (VA), and Sherril graduated from Stevenson. Correct me if I am missing any college graduates!
