Well, this looks like a good place for introductions.

My name is Annie, I am 42 years old, and have lived most of my life in the Midwest, USA. I was raised Roman Catholic, but hated the idea that my Jewish and black friends were going to end up in hell. I quit at the age of 13, after being molested by a priest. I have been seeking, with some stops along the way, ever since.

Fortunately, when I left Catholicism, I took God (as a loving Creator) and Jesus (as a Teacher) with me. I've since incorporated ideas from New Age, Judaism, and Buddhism into my personal beliefs. It's a "take what feels right and leave the rest" kind of belief system. I guess because I am currently looking into my ancestry (100% German, from the Black Forest region), which leads me to wise women with connections to the Earth, the Belief-O-Matic labeled me "Neo-Pagan." I don't even know what that means.

I'm also reading about other faith traditions. I've bought The Koran, and have books on the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, Western Taoism, and two books about Pagan beliefs from the library.

I'm glad to be here, and hope this site stays clear of people trying to convert me.
