Subject: Introduction and a "Howdy"

First, I'd like to thank Gnossis for the invitation so "Thanks" ;-)

I'm 39&3/4 and have been seeking spiritual matters for many, many years. Although, I'm not really sure what "exactly" it is that I am drawn to search for. I have always had an interest in metaphysical phenomina. I started reading Tarot cards when I was 13 but put them down because of some strange experiences. Later I picked them up again along with palm reading, and scrying. During the palm readings I discovered that I was a bit intuitive. I don't like to use the word "psychic" because as soon as you use it someone wants to stick a giant "WHACKO" sticker on your forehead ;-) So now when someone asks me "How did you know that" I say "I have good intuition." they seem to be OK with that.

I was raised a Catholic. Like Anne I have a German background (mixed with Irish and Greek). My ancesters on my mother's side were Pennsylvania Dutch. Bit of history: The Pennsylvania Dutch are credited with bringing witchcraft to the United States. They used to conduct Pow Wows (not the Native American variety) which is similar to a coven gathering.

Early on I decided I didn't like being a Catholic because I found myself being afraid of God. Philisophically that didn't make sense to me so I started searching for something that I could accept intellectually as well as spiritually. So, to date, if asked I will say I am a Pagan, however, if you ask me next year I may say something else. Somehow, though, I don't think I will. I never close a door because I don't want to prevent anything of importance from entering nor do I want to prevent illogical and/or discarded information from leaving ;-)

In a nutshell, I'm seeking for that thing that gnaws at my inside. It says life is more than the observable universe around you. It is both so HUGE it stands right in front of you yet is unrecognizable and so small once you start looking at it, the closer you look, the more it requires observation.

Again, thanks for having me. I look forward to exchanging thoughts and ideas.
C
