Subject: Murder

You know what would be cool? Maybe someone could write a novel about a young girl who kills her family. In the novel, (which would be fiction, of course), she would fight with her step-brother over the inheritance. After a while, she and the step-brother would agree to just split the money 50/50.

Then, after she got the money, she would open up a cool bar where punk rock types could hang out and drink. One of the especially cool features of the bar would be the fact that it was okay to openly smoke dope. And not only that, but you could continue to buy drinks well past closing time, sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning.

But, as Ratt once said, what comes around goes around. Karma would one day catch up to this girl. The fact that she was the owner of the coolest bar in town would go to her head. Her attitude and behavior would start to piss some people off. She'd step on the wrong toes. Rumors would begin to swirl about her involvement in the death of her family.

Eventually, a group of people would break into the formerly coolest bar in town and trash the place, effectively putting it out of business. And the rumors would continue to swirl.

After the bar went out of business, the girl would lay low, her reputation muddied beyond repair. And the rumors would keep getting louder and louder.

In the end, though, the girl wouldn't get away with the crime. She'd be charged with murder and sentenced to death. Killing your family is kinda like selling your soul to the devil. You might get something you thought you wanted, and you might get to enjoy it for a little while, but in the end, the price is mighty steep.

So what does a fictional story like this have to do with Unusual Kentucky? Well, the story is unusual. And it would be set in Kentucky.
