Subject: A question of ethics
Do you think it's ethical for a TCRG to ever talk to a ADCRG who could possibly be judging at one of the major competitions about another TCRG's dancer? Maybe pointing out his/her flaws? I think that under no uncertain terms, should a TCRG whether they be a fellow ADCRG or not ever talk about dancers period. Their own or anyone elses. Isn't that influence peddaling? That's a line that should never be crossed. But in our little world, it is many times!!!!!

Lack of official rules. -- Anonymous, 19:53:32 07/15/02 Mon [1]
Problem is their are NO rules. Once an adjudicator gets their letters they become tenured. Forever and ever.

Influence...I had a judge in my own region, so we see her a lot, she doesn't like me personally because I always beat her daughter. more.. -- Anonymous, 07:37:44 07/24/02 Wed [1]
When at a feis, she told the judge next to her something about me, that judge picked me next to last as well as the original one. The following week, when the other judge was without this woman she picked me first, in a much tougher competition. It really stinks when some judges have no ethics.

ADCRG/TCRG -- Anonymous, 12:42:44 08/25/02 Sun [1]
Interresting post: but the whole system is flawed and out of control not just Oireachtas but at feisanna to how you become certifed...As someone on the outside looking in the politics of ID reach from the top to the bottom. It sucks and won't be changed anytime soon, If they ever pass me on the exam the region I'm in better watch out I'm not a push over...and will have no problem being the black sheep,
BTW a person can have there TCRG removed and banned from the organizion... It was done to a lady in Toronto late 1980's early 1990's. So to some they play along to get along.

Yep, and she knew how to dance, and knew how to teach, in fact she even had turned out toes!!!!Imagine that! She also had a jealous, bitter mother who couldn't let years of bitterness go, even after her daughter had proven herself to be a great champion. Imagine how the bitter mothers that never had TRUE champions feel!

Mothers & Fathers -- Anonymous, 23:52:30 01/23/03 Thu [1]
Why are the Mothers & Fathers always to blame, when they have so little input in the way the class's are run? At our school we never even got into the class room, and heard so many awful things that happened after the class? Yet the Mothers and Fathers are the ones who run the kids to dance class, supply the costumes, support the organization etc.... I'm all for a great Teacher that does so much, but it's time to give support to the dancer's that are so dedicated and talented and the parents that make it all possible, lets get down to basic's if it was not for the Irish Dance Family, the school's would not Survive!

I really don't understand why teachers give parents such a hard time. For the last two years at our State Competition in Australia an AIDI member referred to parents as 'a necessary evil' - she actually thought she could joke like that to parents faces! -- Anonymous, 07:53:12 04/29/03 Tue [1]

evil parents -- Anonymous, 11:04:25 09/23/04 Thu [1]
Well in my experience some, not all, deserve this title!!!
Some parents (we all know someone) take it all way to seriously. I for one say, it's not the places at comps we remember, but the memories and friends along the way.

All ADCRG's start off as TCRG's and many are still teachers and they all know each other for years from their own competition days, how could they suddenly not talk to each other? -- Anonymous, 00:11:01 12/11/02 Wed [1]

ADCRG -- Anonymous, 10:56:26 01/10/03 Fri [1]
MOST Adcrg's do a good job. however some tcrg's will talk to adcrg when their dancers are either about to compete or are sending the marks to be posted. This is unfair especially if you notice this and dancers are being treated unfairly. Something has to be done but what? Perhaps allowing no one to approach the ADCRG during the feis, and having the ADCRG hand in all the marks tpersonally to be posted but then we would neverget home from the feis.

TCRG talking to ADCRG- Observer -- Anonymous, 11:48:36 03/07/03 Fri [1]
Unfortunately this happens alot. ADCRG's should not be approached during the feis and their should be enough of them wearing a name tag with ADCRG to go in the marks, rotaing the adcrg's so that there are extra ones around to hado this. It is unfair particualary when you see one school 's tcrg's talking to adcrg's then that schools dancers placing not just 3rd's or 4th but 1st. this is onyl muy opinion
