tausend blicke jeden tag
schwirren um mich herum,
doch keiner blickt mich an.

tausend hände jeden tag,
tausend förmliche hände,
doch keine berührt mich.

tausend stimmen reden laut,
sie reden über mich,
doch es ist kein liebes wort dabei.

tausend füße trampeln auf mich ein,
tausend schwere füße,
doch keiner erhebt sich von mir.

tausend leere augen
in einer kalten welt,
sie starren mich an,
doch es ist kein lieber blick dabei.

tausend herzen
in einer kalten welt,
doch keines wagt sich mir zu offenbaren.

tausend menschen
gehen einsam und stumm durch diese welt,
doch keiner sieht den anderen an.

tausend arme
hängen lose an den körpern herab,
doch keiner streichelt mein gesicht.

tausend gesichter,
bleich und kalt,
und keines sieht meine unerfüllte sehnsucht.
