Yes this is a backcourt violation.
There are three things that need to happen for a back court violation.
control of the ball
Last to touch in the front court
First in the back court
In this situation the player position is established by where s/he jumps. ie. the front court. The team has control As the player catches the air having jumped from the front court, last in the front and when s/he lands first in the back. I hope this isn't too complicated...
