..... Negatives cannot be proven. My guess is that at first many non-Jews also joined such a community, probably in many places, but they kept it a secret from not only the Romans, but also from the mainstream Jewish "authorities".

..... Yes, of course! That was the idea of the Kingdom of God; to OBEY GOD, their king, at all times, and the Law was believed to have been handed down from God, to be kept at all times, as a condition of getting God's help.
