HOW DO I CHANGE SCREEN SAVER AND RECIEPT HEADER?

We recently acquired a terminal from another company and it has the other companies information printing on the reciept and on the screensaver it has their logo ... Is there anyway to change this?
I was successful in getting this on the workgroup so can i see the other pc's and POS does come up ... but just need to change the graphics interface..

I have recently bought a subway store and have the posi software on it. we also just installed the cash card cd. I am having problems with backing up the data. The old owner has just left me hanging.

positouch credit card issue -- No name, 11:27:24 04/11/04 Sun

Yesterday upon attempting to void a credit card transaction on our Positouch Win98 system, a message popped up "can not find cable". Tried to reboot entire system and now POS or Backoffice will not load.
Any clues????

Sounds like your network went down. Check the network hub or switch.

Start Menu -- Mike, 10:08:24 04/20/04 Tue

Was wondering how to get to the start menu from the main screen or Posi. Is there somewhere on the screen you must touch to get the start menu to come up so changes can be made, or does it require a card with higher authorization or something to get the menu to come up? New to posi and how it works. I know its windows based, and even saw someone pull the start menu and task bar up the other day, but wasn't sure how it worked, and have not gotten around to asking them how they did it since we seem to work opposite shifts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The purpose of the start menu not being available is to keep people from playing around on the computer. You will need to connect a keyboard and press the "Windows" key or the "ctrl/esc" to get the start bar to come up.

How can the max. number of terminals be expanded? We're trying to add 1 extra terminal(to have 6 all) to our system, but the max. number is set to 5.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

You need to purchase an upgrade to your key from your dealer in order to add a terminal. The software is sold by the terminal.

Print Schedules from front of house terminal -- Eric, 12:01:39 01/07/04 Wed

Positouch v.522. Using enforce schedules and having an active schedule in T&A, still will not allow emps to print schedules in FOH. Have a time.sys that has Time and Attendance>>TA Front of the House>>Opt1>>Print Next Sched Day set to 1.
Still no love, any help would be appreciated.

Positouch 4.79 -- Craig, 20:56:21 11/08/03 Sat

I'm taking over a restaurant with an existing positouch 4.79 running on windows 3.11 (ancient). The previous people are gone and took their passwords with them. Is there any way to break into the system to change the primary password so I can start over with the system. My previous career was in computers (although primarily unix based systems) so technical solutions are welcome. Finally, if anyone has a source for the manuals for this system I would love to get my hands on a set.

Printer Cuts Receipt -- Nishant Hegde, 10:23:54 07/29/03 Tue

My Auxillary Receipt printer cuts my receipts about 20 to 30 times when my system just boots or there is a change in the employee login. Does anyone know why this happens.

Tom,

You have to setup a nic and an ipaddress. Then use a hub
or rollover cable. The ipaddress of the posi terminal needs
to be of the same type as your network. 192.168.1.1xx
making he last two bits different. The subnet needs to be the same. 255.255.0.0 or what ever.
Use ping to test your network. c:\ping 192.168.1.1xx (cmd)

Receipt Printer Doesn't Cut -- Rob, 12:33:04 06/23/03 Mon

For no apparent reason, my receipt printer doesn't cut the receipts anymore. I'm assuming there's a check box somewhere in the mess of options that will fix this. Any help? Other symptoms that might be related; There is no REPRINT button after payment is taken, and the letters on the receipts that do print are mis-aligned by a couple letters.

You have probably already resolved this but if not, the problem is most likely that you do not have the 32-bit key drivers, which would probably be needed with Windows 2000. You should be able to get these from whoever provides technical support for your system.

Eratic Touch Screen -- Juan Esguerra, 08:10:40 03/01/03 Sat

Using Win 3,1 and POSitouch on IBM touch screen cash registers.
The touch screen behaves erraticly. It happens in all terminals. You have to fiddle with it and some times you have to re-boot.

The green lights on the router flicker, but not all the time.
can some one help please?

MATRIX Terminal Screen goes blank -- No name, 15:05:28 11/23/02 Sat

A nearby restaurant has POSITOUCH software. One of the terminal Flat matrix screens goes blank. (I observed the screen being turned on, a successful boot, and Windows 98 splash screen. The POSITOUCH menu appears; then the screen goes blank. It appears that all the connections to the network, etc. are OK. Can anyone help?

Our tech support company cannot solve this isssue.
Upon rebooting a terminal (not the posdriver)posi begins to reboot-goes to white screen- then back to desktop screen. Note: network intact able to read all terminals (via network neighborhood)
While booting terminal does connect to posdriver.
Any solutions??

Are you running the credit card scanner? You need to shut that down first, then you need to end SPCWIN. If that doesn't work, you may need to reload your positouch program.
I really haven't had any experience with an incomplete shutdown, but I'll ask around.

We are a POSitouch dealer located in Albany, NY.

The reason your terminals go to the white ready screen and then drop back to Windows Desktop is that there is a resource conflict with COM ports or terminal ID. POSIterm cannot launch successfully with conflicts, so it shuts down leaving you at the desktop.

You may have added a comport device, or the files that store the POSitouch settings may have become corrupt.

Openning cash draw -- No name, 00:23:17 11/09/02 Sat

I have a old 98 system using the cash draw. I can go to setting printer and rt click genneric property than at option type in alt 028. that way I sill set my printer star sp200 and the cash draw will open. But now I got the new system I wonder how do I do that because I can not find option in xp printer property.

DISABLE RINGING ON OPEN CASH DRAWER -- Carolyn Day, 13:51:15 07/26/02 Fri

Go to start in Windows
From start, go to run
type cmd and click OK
At C prompt type
C:>CD SC, click enter
At SC propmt type
SC:>EDIT CASHDRAW.IBM

A blue screen will open. Type SUBWAY after the blinking cursor.

Press the alt and F key.
The drop down box will appear in the top left corner.
Arrow down to save and press the enter key.

Press the alt and F key.
The drop down box will appear in the top left corner.
Arrow down to exit and press the enter key.

The SC prompt will appear in the black window. Type exit and press the enter key.

Do an immediate system change.
