i have to disagree with that. it's true that batman is rich, but that doesn't make him less of a hero. what most people neglect to realize about batman is that he is a thinker. he can think his way through any problem. in that way he is superior to super heros who do little more than react to problems. batman doesn't walk into a confrontation with a belt full of toys and hope he doesn't encounter someone who can beat the snot out of him, he plans ahead and makes damn sure he knows what to expect. if batman were to face off against spiderman, he would first watch spiderman at a distance and study his powers. before spiderman even knew he was in town, batman would have thought up a way to negate all of peter's powers. however, this does not mean i feel that batman would win hands down. his ability to prepare and plan would give him the win against just about everyone. but, as all spiderman fans will attest, he too is a thinker. while peter parker spends more time reacting to threat and using his vast array of superpowers, he is still quite brilliant. the fact is that this would be a true battle of wits and much less a slugfest we'd expect from two competing superheros. in the end, i give the fight to batman, and then only because he has the edge in experience. then again, spiderman is always full of surprises, so who knows.

i probably should come to a more concise conclusion, but in the end it doesn't matter. i really just wanted to defend batman from those who think he's just a spoiled rich kid. he is the pinacle of human acheivment. he is the ultimate man. something that all heroes (specifically those without powers) can strive to be like.
