Nail him from long distance? With what? Superman doesn't kill so it wouldn't be a rock or a car. It wouldn't be heat vision, that would kill him too. What could it be? A strong wind to get rid of Batman?
WHY does Superman nail him from long distance? Was there some sort of event that prompted him to attack Batman? If there was, Batman would know about first-hand or through his vast network of connections. He wouldn't prance around in the streets.

I don't know the exact issue number but if you insist I can find out. It was Detective or Gotham Knights and came out around the time of the whole Sasha Bordeaux thing.
Bruce Wayne was leaving a building. He was shown from a series of wide shots, each getting further and further away until you couldn't even make out buildings anymore. Wayne then says "what do you want?" and we see that Superman is flying high above Gotham City. No human could see that high but Batman KNEW Supes was watching him.
Batman keeps security rosters on how to defeat every member of the JLA and constantly surveys even characters as harmless as the Cluemaster. You don't think he surveys the actions of someone as powerful as Superman?
What you are doing is exactly what i refered to in my post titled "Logical reasons Batman would win" dated 3/26/03.
You are robbing Batman of his ability to always stay ahead of any potentially dangerous situation. You might just as well say Superman can't fly.
