Laying in her tree; eyes hlaf way open as she sunbathed, neck holding her head high up, the female moutain lion decided it was time to hunt. Leaping out of the tree with all the grace of a female cougar the famished feline touched base indenting four paw prints into the snow, tail held up for balance. Streaching her left back leg and right front let in union her neck streached out in a furousious yawn, offwhite teeth glittering in the clear sunlight. Arching her back she flexed her claws, in no big hurry to start. Once limber she treked off into the open tundra to begin. She opened her mouth and panted, tonge and whiskers testing the wind for the scent of prey. Moving on the snow became deep, up to her knees. In her wake four long lines were left from where her legs pushed aganst the snow seporating it for her body to move past. After many miles she came upon a herd of bison. They went into their normal defencive stance, the herd stood in a ring that encircled the young inside. Growling lightly she circled them, their wary eyes always upon her. Picking out the one she would attack the female puma turned and walked off into the forest line, lept up into a tree, and began to wait. After a few hours the herd was confterable again, they still knew she was watching. It was time, jumping down she loped out to the herd and then bolted before they could circle up again. Cutting on from the herd she ran after it than slowed down, he wasn't going anywhere. It was a smaller, sicker one yet was still enough to feed at least three hungry felines. Usung her tail as a director and anchor she twisted and turned, leaping backand forth as the bison charged, wearing it down. Soon it just stood and would pound it's massive hooves whenever she got to close, in those moments the she-cougar would skirt away than circle him again, waiting. At time she would attack and bite into it's flanks or dig her claws into it's neck and body. Soon it would just lay down and die, giving up. Sitting she panted, white puffs of smoke coming from her open mouth, and waited for the bison to give in. After many more hours of waiting it finaly gave up and laid down, allowing the sand colored female to dig in and kill it. Soon all that was left was the female moutain lion and a massive feast. Her fangs dug in tasting the well earned meat and blood, gulping it down, the crimson fluid clashing with the white snow and ice.
