'Tis always the cats in the shadows and the prey in the dark, sleek feline form thought. About their dire situation, that is. Stalking was a genuine art, and he was a da Vinci. Slowly crawling, belly down low to the ground, the tom made a steady pace to an inconspicuous hole in the ground. He had been watching it for a few days now, and the bandit-masked occupants always came out a few minutes after sundown. Bandits were always so easy to catch. Ransom could go where the hounds couldn't, up the tree. This always seemed to surprise them just a bit. Heck, anyone would be surprised to see the silhouette of Ransom sitting next to them in a tree.
As the tom waited patiently for the sun to descend, he took a minute to review his situation. He was most definitely in some other cat's territory; he could smell their scent everywhere. A tiger, most likely, but there seemed to be high concentrations of a lot of scents everywhere he went. He would have to make peace with the resident feline, or move on to find another place. He didn't like a fight, he would rather move than defend his terra. And that's what got you here in the first place...
The Bandit came out and Ransom knocked it off of its feet with one swipe of his patterned paw. A quick bite to the throat, and dinner was served. Licking his chops hungrily, the tom kept a close watch on his surroundings, not wanting the resident to come by and find him vulnerable to an attack.
