. inner peace . outer turmoil .

His tail whipped back and forth as he stalked the big cats realm of Serenity, anxious, irritated, bothered... The scent of two new arrivals, males lions, had sent the young Siberian on high alert. Oh, he was certainly smaller in stature than the larger tigers that resided here, but he doubted the lions would — or dared — to pick a fight with him. It was for a certain kitten's sake that he ventured away from his usual grounds. She wasn't quite a kitten any longer, but her size compared to his was still small enough to evoke an odd feeling of protectiveness.

Sure, males were hardly ever the caretakers in the feline realm, and it was just unheard of for a Siberian brute to, essentially, 'adopt.' He had quickly picked up her trail and dutifully followed the scent to his current location — what does Mirage do, annoy greet every newcomer? Her trail was now fresh, very recent, and unmistakeably she was near.

Coming to a place where, if he could remember aright, a dry, comfortable cavern was located, thorns perked unconsciously at her voice, as a faithful dog's would when his master's car came into the driveway. Mirage was well, and out of danger.
