The story of a fox:
Before I came to the good Abbey of Redwall, I lived in a normal village. I had a circle of friends, just as anyone my age would have had. My mother loved me very much, and always sought to protect me...
My father on the other hand...
My father named Ashda had his good parts, and his bad parts... sometimes it only seemed that he only had the bad parts. He never really seemed to care about me, if I ever did anything bad he would usually punish me severely. It was because of him that I had run away so many times before.
Words were said that couldn't be taken back...
While my father and I were still fuming at eachother, a sickness came to my tribe. Almost everyone who caught the illness died, my mother had it. She died two days after the first signs of illness. My father, wanting to protect me for some unknown reason, told me to get out of the village and to a safe haven. I first rebelled and refused to go, but after seeing friend after friend die I decided to leave. I left with nothing but the clothes I had to Redwall.
One day, I asked an elder if he would take me to the old village to see if I could make ammends with my father. He said he would, but when we got to the village, it was burned down. A large stone stood in the center, it read:
Those who come in search of this place have come in vain, the sickness has taken most of us. The survivors have burnt this place down so that it would not spread.
We honor the memory of:
And then it went on to list a very long list of names. I saw my mothers name on the list, but when looking for my father I could not find him. He must have survived, if he ever finds his way to redwall then I can make ammends with him...
Maybe.
