Marlfox was, obviously, named after the evil Marlfox because his parents adored that villanous fox. But, young Marlfox was good! He couldn't kill an innocent creature! So, after two months of secretly preparing for his travels, stocking up food, and craving a yew staff, he set out at midnight to run away. After two weeks, he was nearly killed by four rats, (two of which he killed, oe he outran, and he doesnt even know what happened to the other one), drowned in a whirlpool and starved to death, he came to Redwall. The beautiful spring morning cheered him up, yet all he saw were mice! So, he made a make-shift mask and now dresses as a mouse. It looked horrible, so he covered himself with a cloak. He just says he is fat when people ask him about the unusual features. Since then he was been living under a flase name ``Adrian the Mouse and Blank the Mouse``, changing his name so that no one thought he actually was Marlfox. He is goodhearted but shy, and only is going to tell one person of his secret.
