Biography of Stika Purplekite.
Most of my life before Redwall was filled with war and chaos. Just around the time I was born, The Great Coldrock war had begun. The Coldrock war was a horrible event in my timeline. Usually, in the northern mountains, there was not that much to, eat but there was more than enough for everybody. Most birds were savages back there, but the insane and the sane could always get along, but the coldrock war was all about the dissappearance of all the food, season after season there was a great drop in food amount and the other birds around the North were becoming reckless. With the food diminishing and no one knowing the cause, the lifestyle of Kite and birds was slowly deteriorating, and then the problem was revealed. A large mass of crows led by a terrible warlord had enroached the Northern mountains territory, which caused many birds to get angry. some of the more literate birds tried to negotiate with these newcomers, but things never worked out, and the food keep dropping. It was then when the war between the Northern birds and the crows had begun. I was 3 seasons old when this happened. Even though the war was a minor issue at the time, it reached its full height when I was around 4 seasons old. At that point, every Northern bird was required to do battle. For seasons the war raged on, neither side having an advantage over anyone, the birds with the skills, and the crows with the numbers. I could remember the hunger I felt at the time, the horrible painstaking feeling at the pit of your stomach, telling you that you were hungry. It was then that we had to take desperate measures. With the crows killing few Northerners, and the Northerners tired from dealing the never ending crows, the war was held at a stalemate. It was a full season later when the crows had begun acting up. The amount of food left was iota, and there was a considerable drop in the crows. The Northerners were finding them less agressive and attacking in fewer numbers, and then half a season later the crows had vanished, the mountains were searched far and wide for any stragglers, but none could be found, sadly there were not much birds left either. It was then that desperate measures were taken, with no food left, the diminshed flock of Northerners took there last flight, one of the oldest birds, right before he died, told the leader of a place called Redwall where there was food a plenty. That same leader decided it was time to leave this harsh habitat and look for this Redwall place. When we got there, there was only My mother and I left, she was very old at the time and weary from famine and flight, and she passed away the day we got there, so I was the only one left. I was heartbroken at the time, for 2 weeks I mourned for my mother and father (who died in the war), but then I found DAB, I was amazed in wonderment at the welcome feelings i got there and I was immediately back up and going after that.
