*blink* Pretty much everyone here knows what I look like and my personality...if not, see posts that have been sort of pushed to the bottom*points downward*, or my badge: BOSSY MOUSEMAID AND QUEEN OF STRAWBERRIES. So, now for this lovely little bit of literature that I have composed on the spot. Yees...my bio. What else? It's on the bio board, ain't it?

The sun's fading brought on a spectacular display of reds, pinks, oranges and yellows mixed together in the sky, the very highest points beginning to show a trace of dark blue. But the mouse couple strolling across the plains in the middle of Mossflower and Salamandastron didn't notice it. They were too busy admiring their small daughter.

"Thistle's beautiful, isn't she," the female sighed, cradling the small bundle wrapped in a lavender blanket. The male nodded.

"Truly a warrior, just like 'er daddy, ain't that right, sugar?" The little mousemaid smiled, and giggled, her strangely purple eyes sparkling. Periwinkle, the lady, nodded, and the corners of her mouth turned up in a faint smile.
"Always the big tough warrior, huh, Rhubarb?" Periwinkle teased. "Hmm...it's growing dark. We'd better make camp. It's still a few days from Northern-South Glen." The young mousewife glanced at the sky for the first time, and began unshouldering her pack, her husband did the same.
"Maaahvelous picnic, wasn't it?"

"There you go again, Rhubarb, being silly!" Periwinkle pushed Rhubarb down on a bed of flowers, after setting down the lavender bundle.

Suddenly, an arrow whizzed out of nowhere, striking the mousewife's pack. Periwinkle's eyes became frightened, as she pointed at the oncoming weasels that had appeared from some trees. Rhubarb drew his sword quickly, and silently ran towards them, saying only, "Run, Periwinkle, RUN!"

The mouse hesitated for a moment, and then saw the urgency plastered on her husband's face. A tear trickled down her fur as she picked up her baby and ran. Periwinkle faltered a moment as an arrow thudded into her back, but she kept going, until she reached a patch of thistles. Gasping for breath, she flopped down on the patch, dropping the precious lavender bundle.
"At...Abbey...sword...father...had...made...for," Periwinkle stuttered, eyes closing one final time.
The babe let out a wail, purple eyes clouding with tears.

The crying continued until morning, which is when a long snout appeared, followed by the body of a slinky, elderly fox clad in various gypsy rags. She winced at the noise, and scooped the mousebabe up in a thin paw, tottering back to her camp, where she presented her bundle proudly to her fellow gypsies.

"Lookit wot I got 'ere, a likkle mouseymaid! I berlieves we c'n make use of 'er," Zampa cackled, not noting hte distaste on the faces of her comrades.
"You don't mean..." a young fox cried. Zampa grinned wickedly.
"Aye, get the roastin' spit ready!"

Crap, gotta eat dinner...more later.
