I dont know if you were on m2 when the 1.4 patch came out in 2003, but the whole gesture clicking thing...the reason it was such a melee secret and used only by the best players before 1.4 is because when you gesture clicked your units would attack the closest units to them, but if you actually clicked on the enemies melee your melee would moonwalk and try to attack the melee units at the back of your opponent's box formation....patch 1.4(we're now on 1.5.1) changed that...now melee will attack the closest unit...but 1.4 also added the feature I told you about, which is the feature to attack one single unit in a melee box,w hich is what I do....top players right now like Shaister are trying a new tactic as well, and that's when you are about to get into a melee fight and it's even, quickly make half of your melee formation preset 1 and the other half preset 2, and half each preset do the double shift click thing to attack just one unit, and then switch to your other preset, have them attack 1 unit, then they just auto from there on out...its complicated but they've reported success...
