I like a lot of Californian wines, and I prefer white over red (snobby people say only wine n00bs do, but they just say that to be snobby). In my experiences the amazing French wines aren't that amazing, and not the best. Eating dinner at nice restaurants with parents has let me try some REALLY expensive wines (let's just say my lawyer father makes his fair share), and price isn't always proportional to taste in my opinion, but certainly some very good wines when you look down the list and the prices rise exponentially.

Uhhhh... I mean since I'm 18 (drinking is 21 in the US), I NEVER drink alcohol ::runs off to another 12+ beer night with sailing team:: ;-)
