Subject: Doom 3... ugh

Having built a new pc a few days ago I expected great things to happen when I obtained a copy of Doom 3. I chose not to listen to the benchmarks thinking my system was powerful enough to run maybe even 3 windows of the game if I so wished. But alas after test running the game yesterday I found the maximum setting I could run it at was 1024x768 resolution at medium settings (there are high and ultra graphic detail settings available) with 4xAA (out of a possible 16x). Even then I find that if theres a lot happening on the screen, the image tends to jerk slightly and when I open doors they don't appear to open fluidly. Soooo if any of you are thinking of buying it, make sure you have a beast of a system. Although mine isnt the most powerful computer available (2.8 barton, 512 geil dual channel ram, 9800pro) i'd say it was still powerful to run most other games at the highest settings... just not doom :p
