I hope his murder wasn't an act of premeditated retaliation from tribal conflicts back home in Kandep. Otherwise, it must be the work of some political or primitive rogues in the Western Highlands. I never really liked Mt. Hagen nor Western Highlanders for the jealousy and backstabbing attitude they possess towards Engans. My symphathies and prayers go out to the family of the considerate teacher who risked his life leaving the comfort and security of the cabin only to go outside the truck in order to check up on the condition of others seated in the back. And what about his daughter?! These perpetrators are sadistically inhumane without remorse nor empathy. My guess is (though I pray to The Almighty that it wasn't so) that the daughter may have been raped and brutally slain. What was the reason for this senseless attack?? And I never really took it seriously until now! To tell you the truth, in the back of my mind, I had suspected Don Polye in some way or another to have been involved in the brutal slaying and abduction of the teacher's daughter. My hunch comes from two reasons..1) The teacher was murdered senselessly in Mt. Hagen, an area where Polye has strong ties, maybe moreso than with his native Kandep. 2) A possible motive prevails from the looming battle at the Court of Disputed Returns between Polye and his formidable foe in lawyer Alfred Manase.. If this is an act of a desperate and power wielding politician, than his conspiracy to commit murder and abduct an innocent underaged female relative of the deceased MUST be uncovered, and the fight to bring him to justice for his crimes must be won by Alfred Manase. I can only assume now that his election victory may have been fraudulent. (Otherwise, there could be another story behind the slaying. Forgive me if I'm wrong for my assumptions!) The deceased is my cousin brother and we already knew there was something of this sort looming and we were watching out for it. ALfred Manase and some of us who were against Don were already warned that anything of this nature would happen. The latest news from home is that a blue 10 seater which Don bought and gave it to his cousin brother was used in the ambushed. The teachers were on their way to Lae for school holidays. The blue 10 seater followed them to Avi where Don is normally based (next to Avi market - on the left when you're going down to Lae way). They blocked the Kandep High School dyna truck and fired shots at the truck tyres and the truck came to a stop at the side of the road. Andy (deceased) came out of the cabin to check if somebody at the back was affected but he was stabbed with a sword like knife in the tummy. Also they fired a pistol at another person who is called John Mission (Peter Mission's brother) and it got him on the leg. However, the tugs apparently left their 10 seater engine on while they zoomed in on Andy. Then John struggled and got into their 10 seater and took off to Hagen where he mobilised some others and they took some suspects to the cell. Don's cousin who owns the 10 seater was seen amoung those tugs. They also raped and ambused the wives and girls. 3 other man are at large and missing. I will post more here as things come to me. FYI, Andy was a key witness in the court of disputed returns against Don by ALfred Manase. Andy was Alfred's leading scrutineers at the counting at Wabag. Andy Toap is from the Alitip tribe who live around the Kandep station and am sure they will not come to terms because Andy is their only highly educated man. Between two clans in his tribe (Kambirips). 2. Between two clans in his tribe but who leave close to SHP. 3. A fight between ALfred Manase's tribe and a tribe which Don has ties with - Don hired high powered guns from Mendi and you may have seen on the papers - they finished last xmas. 4. A tribal fight Don instigated during the 2002 election and a couple of people died. This fello is a pathetic and sick individual running around in Jackyl and Hyde shoes. His mother was not faithful to a husband so she was confused to let little Don know before she passed away. That is why he calls him self today as DON POMB POLYE which he owns 2 farthers, Pomb and polye to gain political powers. Most of all, he is a Hagen breed.
