The writer has missed the plot. Stephen Kikala was correcting the amount the Lagaip-Porgera MP donated. Generally, “Publo” is right in claiming that MPs’ kids are always in schools overseas. They are. But the writer failed to understand that years before Philip Kikala was elected to Parliament, Stephen was already studying overseas. “This kid” has set the record straight and you are angry because of that? You appear to be concerned with the two giant killers in Enga – HIV/AIDS and tribal war. We should all be. I am a student. I too, care about my people. I’ve tried to warn them years ago in market places, at home, at the akalyanda, and in any place where I can get an audience. I’ve warned the people of this two-headed monster that was out to destroy everything that we hold dear to us. So, just get out there and do it. If you are senior university student, I expect you to act like one. Otherwise, if you miss the plot because of little issues like these, I don’t know how you intend to “tackle” this two-headed monster in Enga. I have set my intial message here on the forum for 3 times but was deleted 2 times. So I sent up a copy to Oseah Philemon and Daniel Kurambao to test if my message worth debating for the sake of transparency. I do not have personal problems with PK or Stev, I'm from another district. But what I've relayed was me and my team for an awanrenss campagn was turned away but after a while he made that contribution to NA. So we concluded that he is sending money to where is interest. thats my complain! Is that transparent? Honest? Mi bin tok tasol but things are getting out when you are describing the studenst as big-heads, lack of understanding, you have not done it and so fort. The money contribued was K5000. that was reported by both post courier and national. If they have wrongfully wrote that figure, than ask them to apologise to the MP. How can I prove that yu are right. The media here in Papua NEw Guinea (not japan) has printed that amount and we believed that. 'But once again, I do not have any personal gruts with PK or Stev. I respect PK and His son too but I cannot deny and hold back what is right for the majority of Engans. And finally, You had your time in UPNG too and you have not done anything. The awareness thing has been abandoned by the Enga students over the last decade until this year we have revived it with hard work, determination and an eagerness to see a new Enga. Dame Carol Kidu was our guest Speaker during our launching and our own Vice Chancellor Prof. Ross Hynes was there to witness. Before the launching, The World Vision in collaboration with the National Aids Council has trained 22 of our students to be certified HIV/AIDS trainers. We have raised our own funds and majority of our students are in Enga right now to do the kick start. We are not are bunch of big Headed boys as you have said. Not surprisingly, you have portrayed yourself to be an IMBECILE, with an IQ no better than a stubborn 3 year old baby, rather than one who openly seeks justice and truth. What is the difference between me publishing the facts compared to the MP's own executive officer? Didn't you understand the plain English laid out before you?! I have been in universities longer than you and I know when to accept authentic information coming from viable sources. You unfortunately cannot discern what is authentic or not, nor maybe, right or wrong! Well, I must say you have made a laughingstock of yourself and peers at UPNG, before this Forum and the nation. And you have been justly rebuked might I add. I wonder what those students whom you needlessly listed in the newspaper think of you now? (I know some of them personally and I'm sure you won't be getting any moral support.) If you are so serious about combating social issues such as HIV/AIDS and tribal warfare, I would suggest you start with your own backyard. Preach to your tribes and communities and put a personally concerted effort to attract political and public attention. I'm sure your HIV/AIDS certified students hail from areas throughout the province so you can return to your respective towns and villages for the holidays to preach the message with a notebook in hand. You do not need to talk about money all the time! Engan MPs have their own policies and plans on how to curb the social issues inflicting their electorates and province, and they can simply overlook you without a care in the world. And believe me, after your unnecessary mumbling in the papers, I must say you have done more harm than good for your student body's cause. Believe me, I know firsthand that Polye, Kikala, Kaeok, Pundari and Ipatas have resolved NOT to entertain you students. Neither will you be recieving school fee subsidies next year (2008) apparently so keep striving in school and for your schoolboy's campaign initiative! I commend you for that!
