Like they say - "There is no such thing as a free lunch". If it sounds too good to be true, then that's just what it is - a SCAM!
I have read and know of people being scammed of their hard earned cash. I once came across a nursing office from Enga telling drs and nurses at PMGH that there was a large amount of gold ready to be airlifted out of Pogera but the owner wanted "investors" to help hire the chopper. These "investors" were promised 100-200% returns! I knew this was a scam of some sort but was more surprised and even shocked to learn that some drs and nurses did gave their money to her.
Did these people ever get any returns? NIL. The last I heard, the investors were looking for the particular nurse who disappeared!
Everytime I read or hear such scams, I just wonder, WHO IS THE BIGGER FOOL?
These scams are mordern day cargo cult. People must by know learn that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS MONEY FOR NOTHING. You sweat, you have food. No sweat, no gain.
Are these kind of scams flourishing in PNG because we have beome lazy and seeking the easy way out in our efforts to reach the level of civilization and life style achived by western countries through years of hard work and even wars?
I feel sorry for the poor villagers. Their little understanding of mordern financial transactions also makes them a prey to scammers such as this candidate. Such people do not even deserve to be even circulating in the community.
Just remember - there is no such thing as a free lunch!
peace
