Counting has been exhausted for Central Laiagam, Lagaip Headwaters and Sirunki. Currently electoral counts are being done for Mulitaka, Porgera and Paela.

Philip Kapus Kikala is leading on 9,300 votes with Kappa Yarka a close second on 9,200. Kappa Yarka's Sirunki stronghold has been exhausted but PKK managed to maintain the lead. From here on out, it seems PKK will go into the 10,000s while the rest remain dormant. PKK has stronger support in Kasap, Mulitaka and Porgera/Paela. Otherwise he has mustered most of the second votes in those areas with the support of leaders such as Anton Pakena of Paela.

The threat to split his votes by relatives and tribal candidates is now over!!!

Sounds promising for PK. As we know from previous elections that anybody who can muster votes from upper-lagaip, central lagaip and porgera wins the election. When count begins from upper-lagaip, they lead because thats their stronghold. When it comes to porgera and paela areas, they tend to perform poorly and guys from that area shoot straight to lead and win the election.

If PK collects votes from mulitaka, tumudan, maip, porgera and paela, surely he is on track to win the election. I dont think, Karpa has strong support in those areas mentioned.

Now, on another note, i am a bit suspicious about the outcomes of the election from Kandep. I was hoping and supporting for the return of Deputy Prime minister Don Polye, but, my suspicions are, how come most candidates in the electorate never collected even up to thousands. Some even collected nil first votes. This is amazing, given the Engan culture where we have relatives and friends and voters vote along tribal lines. Has this mentality changed in Kandep? The outcome of the election in Kandep open electorate fascinates me.

Hi Kaims,

Thankyou for the update of the Lagaip Porgera electorate tallies, as long as it's PKK or David Ezekiel or any other homegrown elite comes out as winner I am happy. Down with Kappa and small USA.

On Don Polye, he has my vote.....how he got that absolute majority is history. He won, that's the bottom line.

Now any news on the governor's seat, I mean current
tallies?

Over to you guys.

Don Polye's win is going to be challenged vigorously in the court of disputed returns. The mastermind behind his win is the RO of Kandep - Mr Naipet Keai. He has been charged for 8 counts of election related offences and is out on bail. Most of the Kandep people - especially the Wage and Mariant constituencies haven't had the chance to excercise their democratic rights. Don and his cohorts (polling officials and police) took most of the boxes of Wage and Mariant to a secluded place and they filled all the papers for Don. If there was a proper election Don wouldn't have returned.
This has angered David Lambu and even Peter Ipatas for the regional votes because Don filled them for Paul Torato. This is the very reason why David Lambu's mob blocked Don's celebrating supporters and at Sirunki and abused them resulting in one person from Yango - Lagaip Headwaters dead and several others wounded.
Don's celebration will be shortlived very soon - the other Kandep candidates are on the ground now collecting evidence and will put up a strong case at the court of disputed returns.
One of the PNG reknown lawyers (Alfred Manase) in winning court of disputed returns unfortunately has been on of these candidates affected and he is assembling the building blocks to knock this pathetic conman - Don Polye down.
Keep a watch on how this is going to unfold...it's going to be interesting as it's interesting to see the results.
cheers,
chiko.

It's really hard at this stage to get an update on elections back at home because the communication system up at Wabag was down since Monday. Until such time when the system is up, we could be able to know and would let you know. But for now I presume we are all in total darkness.

And to those of you who are using foul languages in here, please refrain from doing so coz its not doing any of us reading any good. Thanks.

C'mon Chiko,

Be a gentleman, refrain from the unpleasant language that has been prevailant in this forum. We need good discussions and facts for that matter. There are definetly suspiciuos circumstances in the Kandep electorate results so lets hope the truth surfaces.

If Mr Polye was party to this crook arrangements he is not the person that he claims to be. He probably parallels Ipatas being the crook that he is.

For the Governor seat, I've been told Ipatas is on 80,000+ and Mr Torato is on 60,000 + Counting was completed for Wabag and Kandep areas and most of Wapenmanda, Kompiam Ambum and Laiagam areas. This is definately going into the eliminations and it will surely be interesting to see the outcome.

Brata na susa,

Let's just don't argue and curse each other here, we don't even know each other......raise all issues at the court of disputed returns....it's where we who cannot succumb to defeat can find some comfort and consolation. My fingers are still crossed and am still waiting. Please provide results on this forum....no curses please. Kandep open will not determine the life and success of all Enga people....

Keep posted

All land lines to Enga seems to be dead but I don't know if mobiles are recieving. I don't know of anyone in Wabag who has a mobile phone that I could try though, that might work.

Kaimis,

If you got a Radio then, tune into Karai National Broadcasting Station and you will get the latest and live updates/coverage from 7:00pm to 10:00pm in the Provincial Central Tally Rooms.

Tunned my radio well yesterday, but missed the results. Hopefully should share with you guys something tomorrow if nothing appears on the Newpaper and Electoral Commission Wesite.

Cheers,
Kandepan
