The Chief's comments are laughable. PM's position is not his granda's inherited titled. It's an open position up for contention in an equally open competition.

Somare failed PNG big time in many fronts. That's unforgivable. For those people who have no idea about them, here's a brief outline. You can list the rest yourself.

1. Appointed a junior Sepik guy to the position of Auditor General.

2.Refused to appoint a southern highlander who was a more senior lawyer to the be Anthony General. Fred Tomio has been acting for more than 4 years then dumped.

3. Mafia and grand scale thieving at the Finance Department.

4. Sold Ramu Nicket to Chinese without due consideration of landowners, working conditions, environmental laws and immigrations and labor laws.

5. Authorized 100% increase in accommodation allowances to MPs only, and then refused to entertain Nurses and Teachers accommodation/housing allowance from the current paltry K7.00 per fortnight.

6. Corrupting PNG Forests with full support of Ribunan Hijau. You'll be surprised to know that Patrick Pruitich from nowhere now owns many apartments in down town Port Moresby.

7. Regionalism, nepotism and favoritism is ripe and a big with NA in appointments of senior bureaucrats.

8. The US$200 Million Bond Issue with an American Banker. Bart Philemon refused to sign and entertain this when he was the Treasurer.

9.Reducing the parliamentary democratic and debating process into laughable and pathetic sessions with no real intelligent debates.

10. Put all the states enterprises into the hands of his son, Arthur Somare as if they are their family business enterprises. (Telikom, PNG Power, PNG ports, Air Niugini and IPBC)

11. Fiddled around with the superannuation fund Act 2000 by reducing the Housing Advance for members.

12.LNG Deal with InterOil

Now these things/issues are worth slamming and would make intelligent people LAUGH OUT REAL LOUD.

Ipatas Fan; I agree with the facts you have stated; and there is more to these. From my observation after couple of visits to the sepik regions, he is actually sitting on a hot stone in his own province. He is just hanging on "Father of the Nation", giv'em last chance? I'm not into party tick-taks,though party is a key factor, but rather for quality leaders. So ya, maybe his (Somare's) arguement may fulfill despite the ill-decisions and profesional corrupt practices, so lets just wait and judge what happens after the election.Maybe then a politician, be it Tapi, Yawari, Bart, Namaliu, Pais Wingti, John Pundari, Somare, DOn Polye, etc can justify their public statements. My analysis is, if Somare loses, the party leader goes to Don Polye and things might turn out the other way around. But Tapi and Yawari to claim the Top Public Servant Post, its a laughing stock as described by Don Polye in Minj. If one would ask why I'm saying this, analyse from a neutral perspective. You will know why i'm saying this.

Gud Luck PM bergers
