Party politics was respected and supported during late Sir Tei Abal's time when United Party was truely alive & powerful in Enga during the early seventy's.

Now, we hear about the birth of Ipatas' Peoples Party in Enga, revival of Pundari's National Advance Party, Don Polye's association with NA and Limbink Pato's keeping of the United Party in life support system,etc..

Party politics is quite new but I guess is here to stay, it's already taking shape, some prominent leaders are talking and taking sides while others especially in the NA & PP are still sitting on the fence.

In Enga, we are known for supporting and votting for individuals rather than party affiliates or policies for that matter so mi wait tasol with great anticipation.

I give credit to Limbink Pato, Chris kopyoto and Mathew Taso for keeping Enga's oldest political party alive.

The likes of Ipatas and Samuel Abal learned the basic trades under the watchful eyes of Sir Abal there & then but what a shame? Now, one decided to build his own hut while the other is still helping the kandepen to petch water for the Sepiks?

Am looking forward to this years election results with great anticipation as it may set the foundation for the years to come.

You are entitled to your analysis, but the insinuation that A Wangae is likely to contest under more than one political party robs him of his integrity. I am closely associated with him and he has yet to decide on a party though he has been approached by many. Like many other aspirants he wants the best for Wabag and he wants to associate himself with a party that can really deliver, not those who dwell on yester year policies and those who concoct romantic policies such as 'free education' for all. Like all learnered Engans, and though not a trained Economist, he cannot simply not see the economic logic of this policy. He will definitely not side with partys that advocate such populist party propaganda.

Heard 6 of PP's strong candidates have aligned with another Engan party? Hope Ipatas is selling his policies right to avoid being porched?

Getting the likes of karppa and maki endorsed by PP is already a negative sign or a receipe for disaster! Good luck Ipatas, everybody including his own tribesman will reject him.

If you take a stocktake of all educated Apulins, there is hardly any elites from the tribe that is with him.

Also hear rumours that Anton Wangae, is teaming up with another party, true oh?

Thought, he was the only professional from his village who supported and stood by him during good or bad times, esp. last year - national courts.

Good luck, now you can believe your absolute majority of apulin tribesman, esp. professionals. Took you too long to understand and appreciate the leader....

Naro, thanks for your info and whom ever you want to cast your vote is your freedom based on your conscience, but I just wonder who this Fr. Robert Kandapol is. Is he from Enga? I presume you are not shooting two birds with one stone.

Philip K. Kikala is Sir Mekere's man (PNG Party) for Lagaip/Porgera Open. And Fr. Robert Kandapol is Bart Philemon's man (New Generation Party) for the Enga Regional Seat.

I personaly admire the respective party leaders so my first vote will go for each of the above mentioned candidates. I have adviced Paul P Torato to join PNG Party, Stars Alliance or New Generation Party. Since PPT is definitely teaming up with Don Polye & Rex Paki for NA, my first vote is not for him...may be the second or third preference.

Enga and PNG needs change. I am optimistic that NGP + PNG Party + Stars Alliance will form the next government that we all dream of and preach on this forum.

Cheers,
Naro
