Leadership as John Maxwell writes is, "leading by influence". Each of our lives touch many people around us, the way we talk, the way we share ideas, the way we eat and generally the way we live our everyday lives. Each of us, one way or another influence those who are around us.

Effective leaders are therefore, leaders that can lead with their influence on people. They dont lead by coercion or yes boss metality, but lead by example. True leaders have their integrity and honesty intact. Integrity in a sense means not living double lives. For instance, things that you do or the manner in which you conduct yourself behind closed is doors, is the same attitude that is seen in public.

People with multiple personalities are not effective leaders, they can not provide leadership to the people. Leaders need not talk too much but lead by the way they display their lives for all to see and read. True leaders live a open book life, a transaprent life that reflects them as a leader even in the confines of their bedroom.

When such people lead, there is joy in the land, service slowly start to flow through to the rural areas. Unnecessary beaurocratic bottlenecks are removed, and people all enjoy the benefits.

Government services are peoples rights, they are not given to people on the condition that they vote for them during the next election or because they have voted for him/her in the previous election. Government services dont have to be used as ransom for someones greed for power. As such, lots need to be desired for a lot of policitican in province.

My views on politicians have been long distorted because of the day light corruption and greed driven people we have continously voted them into parliament.

I dont want to be the judge of Mr. Ipatas, he does stand to be judged doesnt he? When people become leaders they take the centre stage and they are judged from every angle. For Ipatas' case, he stood judged before the tribunal. The people of PNG, including the people of Enga judged him and found him guilty of 16 counts.

I cant say i am a legal expert but, to my understand a guilty verdict to me implies that Ipatas was living a double life. His integrity is in tarnished, so as being a transparent leader.

As such, opting for the top post while you can not manage small affairs is a big ask. As our scripture says, "if you want to be a leader, manage you family well, if you cant manage your family well, you can not manage bigger things".
Ipatas failed miserably in providing the leadership that the province need, be coerced a lot of people with money, it is through such the he has his support bases. So, under the definition of leadership that i gave earlier, Ipatas does not fall into that category. Hence, those who support such move walk with a blind man.

Now, that is in no way trying to discredit what Ipatas has done. He has done some great things for the province, however, he does not fit the calibre of a prime minister hopeful. Hopefully he sees this and try to concentrate doing properly the small things that matters.
