Glad you dropped in to the Brooder Box. We have a few things in common. I started out with a pair of Red Goldens and now I am about 500 birds strong since March last year. I also have White Peafowl and Silkies, both Red and White. I just fell in love with them. I did have some White Crested Polish Top Hats but my hen got killed and our Rooster started getting aggressive and spurred my husband not once but 7 times in one day!! LOL~ Neddless to say, He was sold. I'd always heard that Polish are aggressive by nature but I didn't have them long enough to really learn much about them other than that!
What state do you live in. I'm from Central Texas where right now, it's warmer than just about anywhere thank goodness. Maybe we can talk about trading eggs from time to time. I have a rainbow of differnt breeds and it sounds like you will be on your way as well soon. If you want some Silkie eggs, please let me know! I have more than enough.
