Boy do I know the feeling of stepping on that scale and my heart sinking with the overwhelmingness of a huge number reistering. It's as if i had been living in a dream world...avoiding mirrors and reality...oh yes an photographs at all cost!! Every once in a while it would be in my face...a holiday picture for instance...but a nice piece of cheesecake would numb the pain of reality. oh yes...and chocolate..always chocolate.

I have continued to stick with my regime (I say that instead of a diet because If I don't excercies nothing happens) all through our trip and vacation. I dancercized in the B&B. My husband held onto one of the lamps in the old historic inn (our room was on the 2nd floor) so it wouldn't fall over...LOL! and I kept the volumne down a bit on the CD player I had brought....but I did it! Then the last day we power-walked in the mall. That was good excercize-wize...but we also did some power buying....hehe! Then I stayed with it all through company and visitors and the holidays including a big new years eve party the kids had here. By new years day i had hoped to be able to say I had lost 50 lbs. Not too shabby though...as of New years day I had lost 49 lbs!! This is since the end of June so basically about 6 months. I have lost another half a lb since then.

You are right Crystal...the scale can be a trap emotionally as well as an indicator of progress. Some days it is up a lb or 2 for no reason whatsoever. I have learned to ignore those rises when I know I have been "good". I have huge hormone fluctuations and thus water retention issues at 47. I take plant estogens/progesteren supplements 3X a day or I would have no energy, not sleep well, and have no flexibility. They make a big difference in my mood stability too. As far as the scale in the house thing...you have to decide. Perhaps messuring your inches would be a good alternative also.

I am thrilled to come back here and find you both posting. I feel like I still have so far to go and sometimes it has seemed a lonely road. I think that the progress has slowed way down since I haven't seem these numbers on the scale in more than 7 years. These lbs have gotten really happy where they are and they just don't want to budge. I am going to have to have more patience than ever before. The big drops are over I am sure...now it will be a matter of a half a lb here and then there...inching my way along. frustrating since I am doing the same thing as before. having you both here is so insiring and encouraging to me. I figure the road ahead of me could be another half a year or more to cover less territory.

the biggest thing I do that I attribute a lot of my success to is visualizing. Very very magickal indeed....and powerful. I also write down everything I eat every day and how long I excercise and when. Anything I can do please just ask.

luv and hugs,
Dreemy
