First, I want to say I now adore Mad Poetess... So nice to reading loving male slash...

1st choice:
A Long Time: A Xander and Spike story by the Mad Poetess
This was a terrific story. Well told, good writing, represent a postive M/M relationship, but not too graphic.

2nd choice
Good Intentions by Wolfling and Mad Poetess
The language and dialogue were mesmorizing. Some "darkeness" but good characterizations. Very sensual graphic descriptions.

3rd choice
Sweet William by Peasant
I laughed so hard at the first chapter. Though not real slashy [that might be a good thing since other members of the group can get real turned off of it], it does have some [not graphic enough!] but more interestingly it has the family dynamics of the Fanged Four, posits an explanation why Spike is such an odd duck vampire, and fills in backstory, while remaininf true to what we know as canon.

Other reactions:
a. Traditions By Corona
I liked this, especially Ethan’s characterization. Well written. I would have liked a bit more from Giles. Could have used a bit more plot for context.

b. Recalling The Sea By Bonster
Sort of interesting and intriguing but a bit too enigmatic [like “What the hell did it mean?]

c. Domestic Piranha: And Truth In Every Shepherd's Tongue by James Walkswithwind and Mad Poetess - rated NC-17
Wonderful writing / dialogue and characterizations [so nice to read a M/M slashfic where pain isn’t the main theme!!], but I am not sure this is a stand alone story. There were a few things I didn’t get: the newt stuff, the alternate dimensions references, children [are they fish?], Carla, the glurble etc. It also was quite long, with not as much action as I like. But I did like it.

d. Small Fry by James Walkswithwind and the Mad Poetess
I also like this one a lot too. Had more plot, but wasn’t too slashy. So, does it really represent slash fiction?

I liked "Sweet William" the best. It had my interest from the first paragraph, which is perfect.
