The church
Somewhere that isn’t over the rainbow

“Admiral!” Mac yelled. “When are Webb and my uncle Matt coming here? They did arrange for him to come didn’t they?”

“Yes, Mac, they will be here shortly,” AJ answered. “And please don’t call me Admiral. It’s your wedding and I’m here for it. I’m AJ today.”

“Thanks... uh... Ad... AJ,” she said, rather flustered. “Oh and am I still not allowed to see Harm?”

“Harm is staying hidden until the ceremony,” AJ replied.

‘Darn,’ Mac thought.

“Mac?” asked Chloe.

“What is it, Chloe?” Mac asked.

“Can you help me get into my dress? I can’t do it alone.”

“Sure,” Mac replied. She followed Chloe to the changing rooms.

Finally everyone was dressed. They were to have photo shoots immediately after the ceremony which begun at 1200, one hour from the time it was already. After the photo shoots they would proceed to the reception. Harm and Mac had made arrangements with a nice restaurant with a large dance floor the specialized in doing wedding receptions. After the reception, Harm and Mac would leave for their honeymoon and the others would go back to the hotel.

At precisely 1200, the ceremony begun. The bridesmaids, matron of honor, flower girl, and ring bearer all slowly and gracefully made their way to the front of the church. Finally, Mac, escorted by her uncle Matt, begun to walk down the aisle. As she walked, she caught Harm’s eye. She saw extreme happiness on his face, and he saw it reflected on hers. They kept eye contact the whole time. When she reached the front of the church, she couldn’t help but think ‘Can’t wait until the part where he kisses the bride!’

Then the preacher spoke. Harm and Mac exchanged vows and all that stuff that I can’t explain because I haven’t been to a wedding since I was eight. As they spoke, the words seem to come from their hearts rather than their lips. All could see that these two were truly in love. The long awaited kiss-the-bride part came. When Harm’s lips met Mac’s lips, the kiss they shared was unlike any other before. They had kissed many times before but it was different this time. It was as if someone had taken all of their previous kisses and turned them into one big kiss.

Soon Harm and Mac had left the room and were outside getting pictures taken. They posed and posed some more. Their wedding party all had pictures taken.

Finally it was time to go to the reception. A white limousine was parked outside the church for Harm and Mac.

“Sarah, this is the happiest day of my life. You could have no idea how happy you’ve made me,” Harm told Mac as they walked out of the church into a shower of bubbles.

“I do know,” Mac replied. “Because you make me feel the exact same way.”

Then, smiling, the couple proceeded to the limousine. Harm opened the door and ushered Mac inside. Carefully, she climbed into the limo, and Harm followed. They sat very close together.

“This is perfect,” Mac said as Harm closed the door. “The day I’ve looked forward to since I met you for the first time. I’ve got the best man in the world and I’m carrying two wonderful children, and I’m finally married to the man of my dreams.. what more could a girl want?”

“Hmm... how about this...” Harm kissed Mac softly. When his lips left hers, she leaned back in for more. This went on pretty much the whole way to the reception.

When the limo's doors were opened, the driver had to tap Harm on the shoulder to bring him back from the little world that he and Mac were in.

"Sorry," said Harm laughing when he saw the driver.

"You were supposed to be doing exactly that, no problem," laughed the driver. The three of them laughed. Then Harm got out of the car, took Mac's hand, and helped her out. Other people had already arrived and were watching Harm and Mac. The new couple smiled at their audience and went into the building. There was a long table in the front of the room and many smaller circular tables scattered near it. Harm and Mac sat in the middle of the long table. Soon, Harriet, Bud, Chloe, Josh, Maria, and AJ came in. They were all seated at the head table as well. Everyone else sat in the smaller tables. A table to the side of the room held food and wine. There was also sparkling grape juice for Mac and for the children. Starting with Harm and Mac, people served themselves. As Harm went down the line, Mac noticed that he took sparkling grape juice rather than wine.

"Harm?" she asked. "Why aren't you drinking wine?"

"Because of you," he replied smiling. "I'm not drinking alcohol anymore. It's not good for you and if it's bad for you then I don't want it around me."

Mac smiled at him. "Yes, I married the perfect man," she said aloud.

When everyone had food, people made speeches and toasts to Harm and Mac. Bud made a special toast.

"I've only known Harm and Mac for a year or two, but they've always been my best friends. I was there when they met. It was special. For those of you who do not know, Harm and Mac met in the Whitehouse Rose Garden. Even they had to know it was destiny. These two have been through alot of things together, and I can think of no two people better for each other than Harm and Mac." Bud's speech brought tears to the eyes of many, including Mac. They all drank to the toast, and ate their food.

When most people had finished eating, Harm and Mac took the floor for their first dance as husband and wife. The song being played was "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion. NOTE: For story purposes, Silent Service happened before Full Engagement.

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful, baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through
Through it all

Harm and Mac smiled at each other, each knowing that this song must've been written for them. For Harm had made all of the wrongs in Mac's life right. And Mac... to Harm she was his one true love. She was his dream come true.

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

"This is like what happened on the USS Watertown," Mac whispered. "You were my eyes when I couldn't see." She smiled.

Harm laughed a bit as he said "You were my voice when I couldn't speak and my strength when I was weak!"

"We made quite a team."

"We do."

You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved my you.

"You've always been there for me," Mac whispered. "When my uncle stole the Declaration of Independence you stood by him and I.

"You've done just the same for me," Harm replied.

"But when we were in the woods... with the poachers... you never left me after that one time. You took care of me. You let me use you as a crutch! How many people would do that?"

"I would've never left you to suffer. I love you too much for that," Harm kissed Mac gently. "And I always will.

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark, shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place
Because of you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

As the song ended, Harm and Mac came together in an intense kiss, telling each other their feelings very clearly. Many people clapped as they watched.

"I love you, Sarah Mackenzie," Harm told her.

"I love you too, Harmon Rabb," Mac replied.

Then the new couple left the dance floor and it opened to all others. Chloe and Josh danced together in circles very clumsily. It was a very funny sight. Harriet and Bud were in their own little world - no one could get through to them. At one point, Chloe, Josh and Jessica all got together and played "Ring Around the Rosie" twenty some times. (I once played it ninety-six times with my brother and my dad's friend's three year old. LOL!) Karen and Annie mostly stayed at their table talking to each other, except for dancing with their children every now and then. Maria danced with quite a list of men, as she had come alone.

Everyone danced and danced until Harm and Mac opened their wedding gifts. When Mac threw her bouquet, Karen caught it. Mac knew that superstition was right. Karen was going to fall in love sooner or later. Harm and Mac and everyone else ate the best wedding cake they had ever had. Harm and Mac pretty much fed each other their whole piece.

At 9:00 PM, the party broke up because Harm and Mac had to leave in order to catch their 11:00 flight.

"Thank you so much, everyone, for coming. It means alot to us for you to be here. WE are leaving for a destination only known to our commanding officer so that we cannot be reached unless there is an emergency. The rest of you..." Mac paused. "Have to wait until we get back. You are now all free to go back to your hotel. Have a good evening."

Chatter broke out as Harm and Mac left the building and got into the limo. Everyone waved franticly as Harm and Mac departed in the limo for their honeymoon.

First they had to stop at the hotel for their belongings When they got there, Mac changed into a black skirt that came to her knees and a light blue silky shirt that made her bulging stomach look quite a bit smaller. Harm just put on jeans and a NAVY T-Shirt, yet somehow he looked just as stunning as usual to Mac.

They finished dressing in no time at all. Harm grabbed his bags and went to Mac's room to see if she was ready. He found her struggling to get her bags out of her room.

"Sarah, let me help you," Harm cried.

"Thanks," Mac let go of the heavy suitcase. "I could've carried it six months ago."

"I know you could've Sarah. You'll be able to do that again sometime, you're just out of practice because of those babies. It's to be expected," Harm reassured her.

"I can't wait until the babies are born," Mac said.

"Neither can I, Sarah. I know being pregnant can't exactly be fun for you, but the results sure are nice!"

"Our babies will be wonderful. I've been planning my family since I was eight. It's even better than I'd ever imagined.

Harm put their suitcases down and took Mac in his arms. "Thank you," he whispered. "I love you so much."

"I love you too," Mac whispered back. Harm kissed Mac softly on the lips. It was the shortest and sweetest of kisses, and they both knew there was more to come later. Then they parted and walked together out of the hotel room.

After checking out of the hotel, they said goodbye to arriving friends, and again departed in the limousine, this time, for the airport.

Dulles International Airport
Washington, DC

"Flight 75 to Hawaii, now boarding!" blared the speaker. "Now boarding first class passengers."

"That's us," Mac said smiling. She grabbed her shoulder bag. They stood and walked to the thing that connects to the plane. They gave the woman their tickets and boarded the plane. Harm and Mac were in seats 1A and 1B . Since it was first class, it was an aisle and a window seat.

Once situated in their seats, Harm and Mac relaxed. "It's been quite a big day," Mac sighed.

"It has," Harm agreed. "And a wonderful one too."

"Yes," Mac rested her head on Harm's shoulder. He flipped up the armrest between them and took her into his arms.

"I love you, Sarah," he told her.

"I love you too, Harm," she replied.

Harm kissed Mac's lips softly. As he pulled away, he saw a look in her eyes that confused him. "Is something wrong Sarah?"

"Not really... I'm just hoping there's more where that came from," Mac replied.

"Oh, well that can be arranged," Harm grinned.

They were still kissing when the plane started to move.

"Mac, you should sleep," Harm said when they broke apart. Her eyelids were heavy.

"An airplane is hardly a place to sleep," she answered, trying to ignore her fatigue.

"Yeah, I agree, but it's a nightflight bound for Hawaii. It's a nine hour flight!" Harm protested.

"Okay, I'll sleep..." Mac said reluctantly.

"Here you can lay your head on me." Mac followed those instructions and she was asleep in no time, Harm not far behind.

Well it would be 0300 ET but on the way to Hawaii I dunno
May 15
Someplace over the United States

Harm's eyes blinked open. He heard a loud boom. Thunder. Harm looked out the window and saw the lightning below them. Mac stirred beside him. She opened her eyes just as they hit quite a bit of turbulence. Neither of them were wearing seat belts. Mac let out a small frightened noise. All around them people were awakening. It was getting noisy as people reacted to the turbulence. The storm was also making quite a bit of sound.

"Mac!" Harm called over the noise. "Can you reach the other side of your belt?"

"I got one side!" Mac called back. Harm reached to the side of her seat nearest to him. Soon he came up with the other side of her belt. When Harm was attempting to sit back up, the plane hit a big bump and in a split second Harm's head hit the hard armrest that he had put up earlier. He swore loudly but still managed to give Mac the other side of her belt. Then Harm went to search for his own belt, ignoring the sharp stabbing pains in his head.

"Harm!" Mac gasped. "You're bleeding!" And indeed, Harm had a large cut in his forehead where it had hit the sharp corner of the armrest. Mac helped Harm fasten his seatbelt and then tried to look at his forehead. They hit a hard patch of bumps. "Oh God..." Mac gasped. Tears came to her eyes. She, Sarah Mackenzie, a Marine Major was scared. She was scared for Harm, scared for herself and her baby, and scared for the safety of everyone aboard the plane. She had finally married the man of her dreams and was now carrying his children. What if the three people she cared about most were... were... killed?!

Harm's head swam. What was going on? He had hit his head... but how? Oh yes... the turbulence... Harm was suddenly aware of a quiet sobbing beside him. Mac! His wife!

"Mac!" Harm could see her now, though he was feeling dizzy. "Mac are you okay?"

"Harm," she gasped. Mac saw Harm's cut again. It was still bleeding. She reached for her shoulder bag. Mac looked through it. Finally, she came across her tiny first aid kit. She found a roll of gauze and pulled it out. With much difficulty, Mac wrapped it tightly around Harm's head. She secured it with a safety pin, managing to prick herself only twice.

Harm's view was fading again. He was faintly aware of someone putting something on his head. "Harm! Harm!" someone was calling his name. Mac! Sarah! It was Sarah!

"Mac.. Sarah," Harm cried. She swam in and out of his view. She did not look hurt, just very scared. Harm hated to see Mac frightened like this. He reached out her and she wrapped her arms around him. Their bodies were as close as their seatbelts would allow.

Finally Harm's vision got better. He continued to hold Mac. She was crying. Harm tried his best to comfort her, but his Marine, his Sarah, the woman who had been so brave when they were stranded in the woods was scared. Genuinely terrified.

"Sarah," he whispered into her ear. "Why are you so upset? I'm okay."

"I'm scared, Harm," she sobbed. "What if this plane goes down? What if I lose you after I've finally married you? What if we lose the babies?"

"Mac.. Sarah," Harm said softly, trying not to think about what she had said. "None of those things are going to happen. It's just a bit of turbulence. We'll get a doctors' appointment once we get to Hawaii. All four of us. Look, it's even starting to calm down already."

The bumps were, indeed, getting smaller, and there were less of them. Just then, the pilot's voice came over the intercom. "Hello everyone, this is your pilot speaking. As I'm sure you've noticed, we just went over a big thunderstorm. I hope everyone is okay back there. It looks like we're pretty much past the big stuff now. Please keep your seatbelts on until otherwise notified, should we hit anymore turbulence. Thank you!"

A flight attendant begun walking up and down the aisle checking on the passengers and making sure they were okay. When she got to Harm and Mac she let out an audible gasp.

"Oh my goodness! Sir! Ma'am! Are you okay?!" she cried. Harm and Mac broke apart at the sound of the flight attendant's voice. When she saw Mac's bulging stomach she let out another gasp. "Ma'am, are you..."

"I'm fine," Mac said. Harm carefully reached over to her and tenderly wiped the tears from her cheeks. "But he's not."

"Sarah, I'll be okay," Harm whispered.

"Sir, there's not really much I can do for you here, but you should get it looked at when we land," the flight attendant told Harm.

"We're all getting checked up as soon as we get there." Harm nodded towards Mac's belly.

"I see," the flight attendant nodded. "How far are you, Ma'am?"

"About six months," Mac replied. "With twins."

"Oh my," was the reply.

Mac smiled weakly. "They're identical."

Harm put his arm around her. "Ma'am, you can go now. We've been in worse situations." The flight attendant looked surprised. "I'm Navy, she's a Marine," he explained.

"Oh, I see," she nodded again. "Let me know if you need anything."

"We will," Harm answered.

Harm and Mac never did manage to fall back asleep, though the rest of the flight was pretty uneventful. This was good, however, since it was midnight when they landed in Hawaii.
I'm not sure if I did that math right... I'm guessing on the time zones. I lost my chart.

A doctors' office
Hawaii

"Mr. and Mrs. Rabb," called a receptionist. Mac smiled. She liked the sound of it. Mrs. Rabb. Harm and Mac stood and walked to the receptionist. "You'll be back in this room," she said. They walked into a little room full of medical equipment. A doctor was waiting inside.

"My first patients of the day," said the doctor. "What brings you here today so early?"

"We're on our honeymoon," Harm begun. "And on the flight here, we ran into a large amount of turbulence. My wife here... Sarah... she's six months pregnant with identical twins. We need to get her checked up, and I need to have my head examined."

The doctor laughed. "Are you insane, Mr. Rabb?"

"No... Sir..." Harm laughed. "I hit it on the armrest in the plane when I was trying to help her get her seatbelt.

"Ah.. I see," said the doctor. "By the way, I'm Doctor Jonson. Which one of you shall we look at first?"

"Her."
"Him."

Harm and Mac spoke simultaneously.

Dr. Jonson laughed. "Well lets just take a look at Mr. Rabb first since there is an obvious injury." She approached Harm and carefully took the gauze wrap from his head. "That's a nasty cut you've got there, Mr. Rabb! I have a feeling you'll need to get X-rays and maybe a few stitches. Come with me to the X-ray room, the X-ray technician can check you out while I deal with your wife.

Reluctant to leave Mac, Harm walked away, giving her a reassuring grin.

Only seconds later Dr. Jonson returned for Mac. He took her to the pregnancy wing of the office and did an ultrasound. "Well, Mrs. Rabb, it looks like your babies are doing just fine," she smiled. Just as she spoke, Harm walked in the door.

"Harm, the babies are fine!" Mac told him, her voice showing clear relief.

"More good news, they sewed me up and now I'm fine!" Harm replied. Harm and Mac hugged as much as they could being that Mac was currently having an ultrasound.

With this note of good news, the new couple left the office to enjoy the rest of their honeymoon.

Harm and Mac's house

Hey guys I know I'm dreaming by writing this part of the story, and I know it'd never ever ever happen, but I can dream can't I? It'd be nice!! Hey maybe I'll bring Harm Sr. back while I'm at it! LOL!

Harm and Mac sat on their couch. They were looking at the Babies 'R' Us catalogue. They had to prepare for the birth of their little twins!

Mac pointed to a crib. "I like that..." she stopped talking when she heard the doorbell. Harm and Mac looked at each other, puzzled.

"We weren't expecting anyone, were we?" they asked in unison. Mac stood and looked through the peephole in the door. Instantly fear shot through her body.

"NO! NO!" she creamed, then burst into tears. Mac hurried frantically to their bedroom and buried herself in the bed.

It was a cold November night. Probably midnight, maybe later. Eight year old Sarah pressed her ear to her bedroom door. All she could hear was her father's shouting. Suddenly Sarah's mother let out a bloodcurdling shriek. "Mommy!" little Sarah yelled. She threw open her bedroom door and ran down the stairs only to see...

Mac abruptly awakened from her flashback. Tears flooded her eyes. That night had been the worst.

Downstairs, Harm was afraid of what may be out there. he peered out the peephole only to see a very normal looking man and woman who looked very worried and nervous. Slowly, he opened the door.

"Hello, Sir, Ma'am, may I help you?" he asked cautiously. Both the man and the woman got curious expressions on their faces.

"Isn't this... the residence of Sarah Mackenzie?" asked the woman.

"It's Sarah Rabb now," said a soft voice from the foot of the stairs.

"Sarah!" Harm breathed a sigh of relief. "Are you okay?"

"I think so..." Mac whispered. Her face was tearstained. her eyes frightened.

Meanwhile, the man and the woman stood shocked on the front porch. Her hair was shorter, she was taller, and she was obviously with child, but there was no mistaking her. It was their daughter.

"C... c... come in..." Mac's voice trembled. "And t... tell us what's going on.."

"Sarah?" Harm asked. "Who are they?" he indicated the couple walking in the door.

"Joe and Deanne Mackenzie. My mother and father," Mac replied softly. Harm suddenly understood Mac's reaction.

"Oh Sarah..." he took her in his arms and led her to their nearby living room. He indicated for Joe and Deanne to follow. Harm and Mac sat on the couch while Mac's parents made themselves comfortable in armchairs.

"We're sorry to surprise you like this," Joe said. "We had to talk to Sarah and she wouldn't have let us come if we'd called."

"It's okay... for now. Tell me what's going on," Mac said quietly.

"Well, about two months ago, I started thinking. About my life. About my daughter," Deanne told them. "So I went back to the place where Sarah had grown up. To see Joe. When I got there and asked to see Joe Mackenzie, a woman there directed me to Washington. When I got here I was a little nervous, but I was determined to make peace with my family. I looked Joe up in a phone book and visited him."

"I had since quit drinking. It was like waking up from a dream when you left, Sarah. Suddenly, I felt that my life was gone. I left the Marines, and I went to rehab. I don't drink at all anymore. I searched for two for years when I finally heard about Sarah in the news. I moved to Washington but only Deanne gave me the courage to come here. When she found me, we talked things over. We became friends. And we came here for Sarah," Joe picked up. "That's our story. What's yours?" Deanne looked from Mac's bulging stomach to Harm, to the rings on their fingers.

So Harm and Mac told the stories of their lives, right up to that very moment. When they finished, both Deanne and Joe had tears in their eyes. Sarah had overlooked her horrible past and become a wonderful person. Soon she would give them two beautiful grandchildren.

Not all of the hurt had gone, but they all knew that the healing process would take time, and then they would be stronger than ever. Slowly, very slowly, they forgave each other.

Mac lay on the table. She and Harm were anxiously awaiting the doctor. They had been told that they may be able to determine the gender of the babies today.

"Harm?" Mac asked timidly.

"What is it, Sarah?" Harm wondered why Mac seemed so worried.

"Are you... do you... will you be.. disappointed if the babies aren't... well... a certain sex?" Mac's voice was still very soft.

"Of course not, Sarah! I am honored that you are giving me two beautiful children and I will love them no matter what!"

"Thank you Harm!" Mac was very happy now. "I love you so much!!!"

"I love you too, Sarah. And I love our children."

"As do I."

At that moment Dr. Kidwell walked in. "Good to see you, Sir, Ma'am," she said.

"You too," Harm and Mac replied in unison.

"Any specific problems since your airplane incident?" Dr. Kidwell asked.

"Nope," Mac replied.

"Well that's good... I think we'll just go ahead and do the ultrasound then..."

It was not long before an image of two tiny babies appeared on the screen. To most they would be unrecognizable as human lives, but to Harm and Mac, they were beautiful. Both of them grinned at seeing their children.

"Okay... everything looks just fine... are you interested in knowing the sex of the babies?"

"Yes," Harm and Mac replied in unison.

"Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Rabb, you're having twin baby girls!"

Mac shrieked with joy. She looked over at Harm. On his face was the proudest and happiest expression she had ever seen. Those little girls were going to have daddy wrapped around their little fingers from the start.

"Harm! I'm so happy! We're going to have twin little girls, and we'll dress them up in little matching dresses..." Mac grinned.

"And teach them to play baseball..." Harm laughed. Mac grinned at him.

Dr. Kidwell smiled at the couple's happy chattering. In all her years, she had never seen a couple as ecstatic as this one.

Quickly things were wrapped up, and Harm and Mac left happily headed to Babies 'R' Us for decorating materials, cribs etc.

Harm and Mac sat in Mac's office. They had just told everyone that they were having twin baby girls. Harriet had shrieked and screamed and was already making lists of things to buy them. Most of the others had been more calm with their reactions and had just given them congratulations. Singer had retreated to her office when she had heard that Harm and Mac had more happy news. However, Mic Brumby had been there, and he had been very quiet as though he was thinking.

Now Harm and Mac just sat and chatted about the office's reaction.

"How soon do you think Harriet and Bud will have kids?" Mac wondered aloud.

"My bet is that Harriet will be pregnant before Christmas," Harm replied.

"Thanksgiving," Mac challenged.

"Mac do you..." Harm was cut off by a knock at the door. It was Lieutenant Commander Mic Brumby. Slowly, Mac opened the door.

"May I come in for a moment?" Mic asked pleasantly. Mac looked back at Harm. She turned back to Mic. "Sure." Mic walked in.

"Commander. Sarah. I just wanted to tell you... Congratulations. On everything. I know I've been a bit of a... jerk, but I've been thinkin'... it's your happiness that really matters. I hope you two have a good life together." Mic ducked out the door before Harm or Mac could say a word.

Harm and Mac were both speechless for the moment. "He's really a nice guy. I thought he hated me after I left him." Mac said finally.

"Sarah how could he hate you? How could anyone hate you? He just needed... time."

"Time. Yes."

Harm and Mac's house

Mac sighed and sank back on the couch. She and Harm had Harriet, Bud, Joe, Deanne and AJ over to help them put the finishing touches on the babies' room. Mac was exhausted and the babies were pounding on her insides.

Everyone came down the stairs.

"All finished!" Harm announced. "Wanna come up and look?"

"Sure," Mac replied tiredly. It was surprising that she was tired. No one had let her lift a finger. Slowly, Mac walked up the stairs.

The babies' room was painted a very light baby pink. There was a border around walls of little rattles and baby bottles. Two cribs sat side by side on one wall. Opposite the cribs was a dresser with a changing table built into the top. A rocking chair sat in the corner. Little decorations and baby accessories sat everywhere.

"Harm... wow guys... it's just like I imagined it, only better! It's beautiful! Thank you all so much for..." Mac suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She cried out in her pain.

"Sarah!" Harm cried. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah... they've been kicking me all day... It's okay. I think they're starting a karate class in there..." Mac replied. Everyone laughed.

"Why don't you lie down anyways," Harm suggested. "I'll entertain our guests until you get up."

"Okay," Mac agreed. So she lay down in their bed... and slept.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!" Mac screamed. "MY GOD HARM COME HERE!!!!!!!!!"

Mac had been startled from her sleep by yet another sharp pain in her stomach. She was unaware of it, but her babies had been ready to come into the world for eight hours.

Harm and everyone else was instantly at her side. "Sarah, what's wrong?" Harm asked worriedly.

"Babies..." Mac gasped. "They're here..."

Harm's eyes widened. Everyone started talking at once.

"I'll call an ambulance to take you to the hospital," Bud volunteered.

"No use," AJ said.

Harm's jaw dropped. "Why?"

"There's a bridge out. Apparently two vans full of drunk college kids didn't see the sign. There was a big accident. All of the ambulances are tied up and couldn't get here fast enough anyways." NOTE: Probably couldn't happen but storms are overused. LOL!

"Oh no..." Mac moaned. Deanne had a look of pity on her face. Having a single baby in a hospital with drugs and everything wasn't fun... having twins at home without must be awful...

"Sarah... It's okay. I've delivered babies before... and..." Harm started.

"WHO?" Mac said through clenched teeth.

"Settle, Sarah. I delivered my aunt's baby when I was twenty. We were snowed in."

"I also have experience," AJ offered.

Bud and Harriet looked nervous. They didn't know what to expect. Neither of them had any experience. Joe and Deanne were worried quite a bit for their daughter.

"HARRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMM!!!!!!!!! YOU DID THIS TO ME NOW HELP!!!" Mac screamed. This phrase made Harriet giggle unwillingly. "THEY ARE COMING OUT NOW!"

"What? Already?" Harm cried. "It's only been a few minutes!"

"Um... remember that karate class they were having earlier?" Mac asked. It was a rhetorical question. "I think it might have been them letting me know they wanted out..."

"Oh my gosh, Sarah..." Harm sighed. Mac screamed again.

AJ barked out instructions, instantly in SEAL mode. "Bud, Harriet, we need two basins full of warm water, washcloths, baby soap, and clothes on the double!"

"Yes Sir," they shouted as they rushed off.

"Joe! Scissors and blankets!"

At Mac's next scream, Harm and AJ readied themselves to deliver the babies. Harm saw that the first child's head was already appearing. Mac was screaming. Deanne was sitting next to her, trying to help her. Mac puffed and pushed and screamed etc etc etc (and I really don't want to write about this too graphically...) but they managed to get the first baby out.

Harm held the child in his arms and said "Sarah, your first daughter is here," before giving his child over to Harriet to be washed and clothed, he kissed her head lightly. She had a healthy cry and a pink body.

Then Harm turned back to Mac for the second child.

"Push, Sarah!" Deanne cried.

"I can't do it!" Mac cried.

"The word 'can't' does not exist in the Marine Corps dictionary," Joe told her.

So Mac pushed etc etc etc and the second child was born. It was silent.

"Why isn't it crying?" Mac demanded.

The baby looked perfect but made no sound. Carefully Harm ensured that there as no obstruction in the child's airway, and smacked it's pink bottom. Everyone was relieved to hear her cry. Harm gave his newest daughter a kiss and handed her to Harriet, just as Bud returned with the firstborn child. Harm took the child and sat next to Mac who was shaking and puffing. "Would you like to hold your first daughter?" Harm asked. Mac accepted the child into her arms. Less than five minutes later, Bud returned with the second child. Both babies were healthy and happy.

"What are their names?" Harriet asked.

"This one is Jennifer Hope," Harm said, holding up the second baby.

"And this one is Haylee Lauren," Mac announced.
~*~
Not much time later, an ambulance arrived, as Bud had stubbornly called anyways, to take Mac, Haylee and Jennie for a checkup. Trish, Frank, Karen, Jessica, and Chloe were going to fly down the next day. Clayton Webb secretly arranged for Matt O'Hara to be temporarily released from Leavenworth in order to visit his niece and her new arrivals.

JAG HQ
Falls Church, VA

Harm and Mac walked into JAG. Harm carried baby Jennifer and Mac carried Haylee. Jennifer wore a tiny sailor's dress, while Haylee wore a T-shirt that said "I'm a mini Marine". The babies were passed around, and people cooed and smiled. Mac had a smile-provoking game of "Peek-a-boo" with Haylee. And though it surprised nearly everyone, Singer seemed to have a soft spot for Jennifer.

When Harm and Mac had taken the babies back into their own arms, Harriet and Bud called for everyone's attention. "Everyone, Bud and I have some news," Harriet smiled.

"We thought it would be a good time to tell you all," Bud added.

"We're having a baby of our own!"

Four Years later
Harm and Mac's home

One year old Harm III tumbled out from under the table onto his sisters' game of Candy Land. Jennifer and Haylee giggled at their brother. Even though he was only a baby, he was mischievous.

Harm and Mac sat on the couch watching the scene. Mac picked up Harm III and put him on her lap. The little boy gurgled happily.

Just then the doorbell rang.

"I wanna get it!" Jennie yelled. Haylee and Jennie raced to the door. They opened it.

"Uncle Bud! Aunt Harriet! AJ!!!" Haylee squealed. In walked Harriet and Bud. Bud held their three year old son AJ. Harriet's stomach bulged, a sign that in only one month she was going to have a daughter.

"What brings you here?" Harm (II) asked.

"We wanted to know if you guys would like to go to the B-E-A-C-H with us," Harriet spelled quietly.

"Sure!" Harm and Mac exclaimed.

And so the eight (plus one soon to be) people went to the beach, danced in the waves, and left footprints in the sand.
THE END
(Epilogue to immediately follow)

*Epilogue*

Joe and Deanne stayed friends though were never married. They are both living in Washington DC, and being GOOD grandparents.

AJ remains single - only for the time being - I assume he's just waiting for the right one.

Karen got a job as a teacher and providing very well for Jessica who turned out to be a very bright child. She is steadily dating a man right now, who Jessica loves.

Maria, Trish, Frank, Gunny, and Tiner all stayed exactly the same for the rest of their lives.

Matt O'Hara was released from Leavenworth with good behavior and is now living near Harm and Mac.

Bud and Harriet had a son named AJ and a daughter who they named Sarah. Successfully.

Mic met a strange girl named Renee Peterson and fell in love and they rode off on white horses into the sunset and ran towards each other on a beach in slow motion.

Singer is still only a Lieutenant Commander. However she found a passion in paperclip sorting and now assists Gunny and Tiner as well. (JK, LOL!)

Harm and Mac had Jenny, Haylee, Harm III, and Sarah Elizabeth. The older girls enjoy tricking their babysitters and siblings with matching outfits and twin tricks. Harm III enjoys building models of F-14s and hopes to become a fighter pilot like his father someday. Sarah Elizabeth still toddles around, but the tiny girl has great self-defense strategies already. Harm and Mac's relationship continues as it always did, though now they extend their love to four new family members.

THE END
(Really this time)
