Nashota stared in outright horror at the two young Cheysuli. She could tell by the presence of the wolf cub and the half grown eagle that they considered themselves warriors. But, as her eyes looked to the smallest child, she soon realized that they were nothing more thatn a pair of puffed up little boys. Much the same as Kalea and herself had been when they realized that they could do magic.
Laughter filled the young Jellicle as she continued to watch the boys. The smallest one, Dante, had his lip curled in a snarl which made Nashota laugh all the harder. ::Oh Kalea, look at them.:: She mimdspoke as she knelt down to get closer to the small child. ::Aren't they cute?:: She reached out her hand to touch the side of Dante's face when a hharsh voice cut in.
::Nashota! As your friend I must insist you NOT try and touch him!!:: Came a warning from Rio as she moved into the clearing, but it was too late. Quick as lightning Dante darted forward and sank tiny childs teeth into Nashota's outstreched hand.
"OUCH!!!"
"Dante!! No!!" Gabriel cried as he stooped to pick up the child. Yellow eyes turned to the wounded Jellicle now tucked safely behind Kaleadora. "Nashota? Are you all right?"
Rio growled softly at the wolf cub who had the good manners to duck her head. ::Sorry...:: came the childish reply of the white cub. ::He jumped afore I could stop 'im.::
Gabriel stood up with Dante and turned serious eyes to Michael. "These are Jellicles. They are also my friends. If it were not for Nashota and Kaleadora you would not have an older brother right now. So I expect the two of you to show them a little respect."
He reached out an affectionate hand and tustled Michael's hair. "At least do me the favor of pretending we Cheysuli have some manners huh?" He shifted Dante on his hip and glance back to Kaleadora and Nashota. "He's had all his shots." he said with a snicker. "Seriously, are you all right?"
Nashota nodded. Her hand oozed blood from her tightly clenced fist, but she refused to allow anyone to see it. He was but a boy, he didn't mean to hurt her. "I'm fine Gabriel." At Kalea's worried glance she looked to her sister from the corner of her eye and smiled. ::I'm fine. If you must you can see to it later. Focus on the children right now."
Gabriel sighed. "If you can get past Michael Dante bites. Guess I should have mentioned it earlier. Sorry about that. Lets see then... This is my brother Michael and the golden eagle is his lir, Evan. Say hello Evan. The Jellicles can hear you."
He looked around until he found the tiny white wolf cub hiding beneath Rio. With a chuckle he tilted his chin out toward the wolves. "That little girl is named Khanada. She is lir to the demon child, Dante."
"Dante, Michael, Evan, Khanada... These are true to life Jellicles. They are going to help us."
