Alexis sat in the opening of the tent. Her back taunt as she protected her friend from any who would harm him. She knew this was hard on him and searched her mind for any way to make it easier.

Slowly she turned to look at him. Her crystal eyes sad. "Please Jeff. If you will but listen to me. I did not do anything to harm you." She looked away miserably. "I am your friend if you will still have me."

Silently she prayed he would still be her friend. All her life her father had kept her away from all others. Humans because she was cheysuli, and cheysuli because she was... She blinked away a tear. What did it matter anyway? Monet was all she needed. She didn't need anyone one else.

Slowly she slid a look back to Jeff. "Having a friend would mean a great deal to me."

Gabriel through back his head and laugh loudly. His yellow eyes were clearly amused by the question. "Tell me something little one... Why would I waste my time cooking you up to eat when you've barely got enough meat on you to keep you grounded during a storm."

Gabriel laughed again and shook his head. "No... We're have rabbit for dinner." He pointed to the three large hares roasting over his camp fire. "Care for any?"

Rio chuckled softly to herself and moved to lie closer to the fire. ::I weigh more than she does.:: Her blue eyes closed slowly as sleep claimed her.
