There's a reason things like those stick out. Because they are rare and because we look upon them with disgust!

Not so in soccer. How many flares were thrown? One? Six? 20? From where? One section? Two? Why would you bring flares to a game?

I can see one whacko grabbing a piece of equipment - like a bat - and losing control. But you have to have a little forethought to actually bring a flare to a soccer game, or are those just sold with pretzels?

Not so in soccer."

Really? If it's so normal then why is it in the news? And the fact that you don't look at that incident with disgust doesn't say much for you.

Oops.

Remember when soccer tried to institute a rule banning black players under the age of 20 from entering their sport?

Remember when the soccer player's union attempted to keep the league from regulating illegal drugs?

Remember when that soccer player died from taking ephedrine because the league didn't test for drugs?

Remember when that soccer player was caught using cocaine on multiple occasions and was allowed to continue to play?

This is exactly what I thought soccer players would say. Give me a break. There is no other sport where acts like this happen with such regularity. It just makes it easy to not be a fan. Not fun to watch on TV, not safe to go to games in any place but the US, where the soccer is horrible. Hey guys lets go kill our goalie for messing up that play. That would be fun.

Of course not...because there's no other sport that's played professionally in almost every country in the world.
