ZH and Ray, baseball has had its fair share of fan-led dangerous incidents as well as numerous incidents of scandal through the years. This steroid thing is only the latest.

But I come not to bash baseball -- that's too easy -- but to defend soccer, and to educate ZH as well. You say the soccer is terrible in the U.S.? Then I'd ask you why the U.S. soccer team is ranked in the world's top 10. Actually, the soccer here has made great strides in the last two decades. The U.S. made the quarterfinals of the last World Cup. That hadn't happened in 50 years.

Also, you can go to a soccer game in England (outside of Liverpool, which is full of crazies anyway) and feel perfectly safe. I can vouch for that. You're probably safer at a British soccer game than you'd be at the Oakland Coliseum for a Raiders football game.
